Good morning!

The non-partisan National Tax Policy Center has examined Obama's economic plans for us and predicts they would add 3.4 trillion dollars to the national debt. Not exactly fiscal responsibility is it?

The Russian/Georgian war moves into its second, dangerous week.

Glenn Beck's

Argument Against Idiots: Obama's Experience and Qualifications August 13, 2008

How to win the argument de jour with logic and facts
The issue:
Obama's Experience and Qualifications

What the liberal (or in this case, misguided conservative) whiners say:
1. 'Barack Obama will bring UNITY to our country to finally get things done!'
2. 'Yeah well, Obama is a Washington outsider, which is exactly what we need right now'
3. 'Barack Obama is one of the great communicators of our time, he's a brilliant speaker who can fire up a crowd'
4. 'He'll bring change, and anything is better than Bush, right?'

Your winning, logical, reasoned arguments:
1. Really? Can you name even ONE instance where Barack Obama worked in a united way with Republicans on ANY issue? His positions are so far to the left, there's no way he could reach out to anyone but extreme left wing liberals. He's never shown the least bit of interest working with members on the other side of the isle. On the other hand, John McCain has "reached across the isle" numerous times...McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Lieberman to name just a few. If your really want UNITY or bi-partisanship, John McCain is definitely your man.
2. Unfortunately, Obama has spent SO much time outside Washington, that we have absolutely no idea what he would do once he was inside. He was a "community organizer in Chicago, an Illinois state legislator, and a U.S. Senator since 2005. From that to President of the United States? Asked what Barack had accomplished to recommend him for the job, I was told recently that Barack Obama had "organized the Black people." Hmm. First, I hadn't realized the Black people were DISorganized? There's nothing worse than an entire minority group running around helter skelter, is there? So, thank you for that, Barack. That must have been during the "community organizer" days? But when pressed to name specifics on a legitimate accomplishment, Obama supporters are stumped. Even staunch Obama supporter, Texas state senator Kirk Watson, when asked by Chris Matthews on national television this past February 19th, to name just one thing Obama has ever accomplished, Watson couldn't come up with a single thing. Not one. This was of course, before Chris Matthews felt the "thrill going up his leg" for Obama, and pledged him his troth.
3. Adolph Hitler could fire up a crowd too. I'm not comparing the two, I'm just saying that's not necessarily the best recommendation for president. I went to a Barry Manilow concert with my wife once, he had the crowd (well, the WOMEN in it, anyway) pretty fired up. As for Obama's communication skills, I still like the fact that he communicated to us that we have 57 states, plus one he hasn't visited yet, plus Alaska and Hawaii...for a total of 60? Had he not communicated that information, I'd be under the mistaken impression we still had just the 50 states. Also the priceless tire inflation communication, just might save our nation, as well as the planet.
4. Uh, wrong. Karl Marx wouldn't be better than Bush. Neither would Vladimir Lenin. Let's not forget his quote from the front page of the Wall Street Journal a few months ago: "Globalization and technology and automation all weaken the position of workers," he said, and a strong government hand is needed to assure that wealth is distributed more equitably. Equitable distribution of wealth talk should frighten to the core all American citizens who love life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The one big bill to Barack Obama's credit right now is another of his proposals to redistribute wealth. It's called the World Poverty Act. If passed into law, it would take $845 billion from U.S. taxpayers, and redistribute that money to other nations through the UN. Sound good? If so, we'll see you in the cheese lines Comrade!

Good Morning!

Lysie I heard Glenn Beck's list a few days ago. He was great and very entertaining.

Will start back into my classroom next week for the upcoming school year. (Where did the summer go?...)

My class should be a bit smaller this year so I am excited that I will get more one on one with the students, and have some room to move around inside the classroom.

Smaller class sizes are great. Good for you!

As to where did the summer go, why do schools begin the school year before labor day? I really don’t understand. The long summer is perfect outdoor time and wonderful for roaming the woods, swimming and delving in things that you don’t have time for during the school year.

I took art, pottery, swam every day, rode my bike all over town and out to the state park, hiked, studied nature, did star gazing and allowed my imagination to develop. All of that needs large unstructured time. There is too much regimentation and we are mass producing automatons. Hold off on school until after labor day.

Wiscosin actually does start school after Labor Day. (We started that several years ago.) We do as teachers though have inservice and room preparation right before the holiday.

The students will come to school the Wednesday night before Labor Day weekend to meet their teachers and put their supplies in their desks. Its a great opportunity to talk with the parents as well.

It’s good to research the breeds and know what you want, what you can and cannot live with....

Good mornin’ everyone! Hope your eye heals quickly Molly.

I’m off for a “fun-filled” day of WORK - I’d quit, but I’d miss the money.

Those whacky Chinese sure do love to cheat, don’t they? Winning is everything!

Good for Wisconsin. At least there is one state that hasn’t lost its marbles yet. Alabama is already in session.

I am hoping we remain sane. Unfortunately we have a very liberal governor and a state that tends to vote democrat.

We also have so many documented cases of voter fraud, but the Gov. and the state refuse to do anything about it.

You’ve served a great breakfast today and now this article from Glenn Beck. I like his program. I used to listen to it when driving to Waco in the AM. I sometimes listen to him from tv, but seldom. I’ll try and listen to him more.
