I've seen less blood in some zombie films. You have been warned!

Ouch. Must have been directed by Quentin Tarrantino.

Not for the weak of stomach.

I’ve seen a lot of funny forklift safety videos in my time, but this is the best.

If the insurance company was smart they would pay Klaus a million marks a year to take a desk job, better yet stay home and not work at all.

Ah hell, that was filmed at our new facility!

I thought it was an in-house kind of thing.

At your service. I took some liberties with the technical terms

Short Film Agency Hamburg presents

an inhouse logistics and transport taskforce feature

Dear forklift truck driver, ladies, gentlemen. During your traing you have proven that you're able to handle a forklift (truck) theoretically as well as practically. So I'm delighted to tell you that all of you passed the test. And now I'd like to hand out your driver's permits for our inhouse transport. Let's see, ... Herr Bassek...

That's Klaus. Klaus just passed his test and now is one of 37.000 certified forklift operators in Germany. Now he has very right to call himself a forklift truck driver.

Klaus, the forklift driver - The first day at work.

Good morning, Klaus, now let's get serious. Your first day as a forklift driver can commence. Now what does a forklift operator do first? Rrrrright! A complete systems check, because safe equiment means safety at work. Do the brakes work? Is the hydraulic lift system operational? Is the steering lose? Everything alright? Well, then let's get started: Off you go!

For safety reasons walk- and driveways are seperated, especially at the building entrances. But watch out! There are always colleagues who ignore the regulations, endangering themselfves and others.

Hey, that was close. Therefore: Even with seperate ways, always watch out for pedestrians.

There's a colleague waiting...

Good morning Klaus and congratulations again..

Thanks!

I have to go up there, could you give me lift?

But Klaus, you should know that lifting persons on the forks is not allowed!

Sorry, can't do. Too dangerous!

If I take a pallet, it's safe...

Ah, the colleague has a solution, but that's also against the rules! Quite the contrary. So it had to happen: The pallet tilts, loss of balance, fall.

Therefore, never lift persons on the fork. Only use a suitable work platform.

Alright Klaus, now let's fill the shelves: Position forklift, insert forks, lift load.

Say Klaus, have you seen my knife?

Nah.

Jeez, where have I put it?

Now carefully go forward and put down the load.

Lunch break, dig in!

So Klaus, let's continue.

What, it doesn't work? Let me have a go at it, I know my way around these things.

Wait a sec... remember, Klaus? Only authorized personnel is allowed to do repair and maintenance work. So no fumbling around yourself or others.

What? So much ado about nothing? We aren't sissies with two left hands!

Therefore: Never try to fix things yourself. Always report defects to your superior, he will get a specialist for the job.

Well, forklift fixed, let's head for the next comission. Well done, slippery items have to be balanced well. But Klaus, don't you think such an item warrants additional fastening?

Therefore: Secure everything that might slide, ideally with fastening straps or ropes.

Especially in the metal industry you might fight areas where earmuffs are a necessary noise protection.
