The only people who knew who would win are the accountants standing bacstage. Not all the films nominated were about Iraq. Conspiracy theories are just that. It was just a nice gesture on AMPAS’ part to do that. The Academy is generally a conservative body that dooesn’t like political speeches and usually cuts them off.

apparently, she had a bald head for a role..but I think a wig would have looked better.

I was so fixated on that thing on her head that I thought I saw something on her shoulders as well..but maybe not.

Its like he is thumbing his nose at high fashion. He is one of my favorite actors. He was awesome in Gangs of New York.
