"You will get your thank you from Hillary or Obama in November. And you'll deserve it as you helped steer the GOP off a cliff."

Absolutely.

No one could be worse than McCain. Even though Romney was not my top choice, he is relatively far superior to the pathological liar McCain who is in a frenzy for massive amnesty. Romney has the best experience, a refined manner, and a normal home life. McCain has not one single qualification for POTUS.

IIRC, McCain has missed maybe half of the Senate voting sessions. His has been unable to do his job in Senate, how will he have the energy to do it as POTUS? He did find energy for pushing amnesty, jumping to the demands of the amnesty lobby, and even voted against the Cornyn amendment. There is no way to spin that vote.

Oh you mean classy like the freepmail that was inadvertently sent to a Fred supporter where it was discussed how much conservatives on FR were hated by Mittbots and that when Mitt won Mittbots would silence conservatives like some liberal coup of Free Republic.

I'd love to read that one.

I agree with you. I think Reaganesque did a good job of dealing with all of the insulting people. I really appreciated what he did, keeping people informed. I would like to thank him too.

So we're lauding people who are little more than bots for a particular candidate, now? And a very liberal one at that?

FR has truly fallen on hard times.

“Mitt will live to fight another day.”

It’s encouraging to me to know that there are people like him who are willing to stand up for what they believe in with dignity in spite of all the attacks. All the candidates acted like they were running against Mitt, instead of McCain. I really respect Mitt seeing how he stood up and not cracking, he is much more worthy then people realize. I appreciate Reaganesque for being a person of reason during a time when people were being very hateful and unreasonable. I wonder if any of those people will ever realize what they did? Of if they will just remain ignorant? That will be interesting to see. I wonder if any will have the guts to admit they made a mistake? The people they were backing couldn’t even hold a candle to Mitt as far as strength and character which is reflected in Mitt’s personal and professional successes.

Thanks so much for all of your pings and good work! I hope to hear from you again in four years. Tell Mitt that we’re proud of him and how far he came in so short a time. He did great!

Also, tell him not to ignore the calls to run for John Kerry’s Senate seat. He’s Presidential material.

Thanks.

I agree he has the ability, and I agree that he displayed it a few times during his campaign. Which makes it even more frustrating that he didn’t use that ability regularly.

Ah, well, the die is cast. No sense fussing about it now.

I'll be in my basement cleaning my guns grumbling about the communist takeover of our country. Ping me in a few years.

Reagensque was effective because he stayed optimistic everyday. Close to 75% of FReepers supported Mitt by the time he suspended his campaign. Up from 7-10% at the beginning of 2007.

The conservative candidates dropped out one by one. I guess the voters want a liberal. 4 years of Hilary/Obama/Carter with a DEM congress will bring the voters back to towards conservatism.

Mitt has had his first National exposure and dry run. He did pretty well. Next time around the religion won't be as much of an issue and unfortunately the Nation's economy and socialism inroads will be much worse. He'll have a bigger job to do fiscally to cut our increasing debt and waste and also turn back the liberal tide on social issues. But he has battled them in Mass. and he can do it for the Nation.
