We shall unlikely see again soon a man of Mitt Romney’s caliber again aspire to the office of president.

He was instrumental in allowing "gay marriage" in Massachusetts.

I hope for no more of that "caliber".

All I can think is, WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL ALONG?? This is one of the best expositions of conservatism I have ever heard.

If he campaigns like this in ‘12, the presidency is his.

I'm not going to forget Mitt Romney. I just wish I had come to know him sooner. This primary season was such a hard contest.

I will never forget that barn-burner of a speech he made the night of Feb. 5th. As a Californian, I was gratified by his honest acknowlegement.

This man makes valuable contributions.

Well, tantiboh, I went to hear him speak for the first time almost two years ago now and he spoke then like he did in this speech today. I guess that's why he won me over from Day One. Perhaps the debate format and the stump speeches were not as conducive to this type of speech. However, his platform did champion the ideas mentioned in this speech and many of the videos and speeches that were available on Freeper UP's homepage were similar to today's speech.

I hope the country gets to know him better over the next few years and he gets another chance.

I would like to thank many of you who posted and worked tirelessly for Mitt's nomination amidst some of the most vicious opposition I have ever seen. A special thanks goes to Redgirl, who volunteered on Mitt's campaign in addition to all the research and terrific posting and restornu, who posted bravely and relentlessly as well as Charles Wainright who writes some of the most thoughtful and intelligent posts, I have yet to encounter. It was nice working with such a great group, and truly the classiest supporters of any candidate on FR. I will miss you!

Thanks for trying to get the truth out about Romney’s record.

Having lived in Mass. and voted for him, I thought he’d make a great President. But it apparently wasn’t God’s will — this time, anyway. But like Reagan, I hope he’ll be back next time. After 4 years of liberals, whether it’s McCain or Hillary/Obama, this country is going to need to have a conservative like Romney more than ever.

Mitt Romney has an ability to articulate conservatism, which is every bit as good as Reagan's was. I thought he proved it with his speech about religious liberty.

In the next four years, we must continue to encourage him to run in 2012. Hopefully, Mitt will spend it much the way Reagan spent his after the 1976 presidential campaign.
