"This morning, she was laughing and crying while she remembered him hiding behind a chair and then attacking me when I walked by."

We live too close to the road to let our pets have much freedom. We finally decided that any cat would need to be an indoor cat. So far, it's working. Our current cat is going on eight years with us. Here she is ...

Cat, Waiting For The Sunlight

The morning sun is shining bright,
Dust motes down the hall begin to stir.
Cat is sitting patiently, with paws tucked in for warmth,
Waiting for the Sun to start its purr.

Cat knows how to speak the language of the Sun,
She hears the happy thrumming of its voice.
And lying in the sunlight while the music plays,
Unless she’s really hungry, is her choice.

Of course the dog disturbs her reveries,
Crowding in to warm like a china bull,
She gives a stare that should melt fur.
Perhaps her batteries are not quite full.

Reluctantly, she leaves her post,
With a gaze of mild regret. She’s very put upon,
The Sun winks knowingly back to her,
They’ll have a tryst in private later on.

I love wildflowers....we have some in Tennessee but they aren’t ready yet with our cold weather. I sure did like those you displayed. Have I missed any news on Chachi this last week? Hope he is moving around better by now!

Thanks for asking about our baby dog. No, there hasn't been much to report on Chachi lately. He continues to improve, but it is a slow process. The vet is thrilled with his progress, but we are anxious to see him back to 100%. That could take awhile. In the meantime, Chachi thinks he is just fine and is wanting to wrestle and play.

His fur is growing back in nicely too, except it seems to be coming in a much lighter color. If it never matches the rest of him, he will look kind of funny, I guess, but we will still love him no matter what he looks like, of course. :-)

I don’t know what the answer will be. We live on a country road but the traffic has really increased these last 5 years. Sometimes our road looks like a hiway.

Hubby does not want a house cat. He doesn’t mind a cat coming in for an hour or so to play.

I’m wondering if putting the kitten/cat in the garage every night will solve the problem. Milo and Simone were both run over in the early morning. Probably stalking a bird.

I’ve thought about writing a poem about cats and highways. So far I’ve resisted the temptation.

You can have a cat, but you can’t share one with your neighbors.

Or, you could do what my friend does: Get a time-share cat.

She calls it Wednesday.

I'm So Sorry to Read this, Amy. :( It's Horrible to Lose a Kitty; I still Miss my Sweet Kitty I Lost a Few Years Back that was my Best Friend. :(

Marissa will be in my Bedtime Prayers in a Few Minutes. Our Savior Comfort and Rest her Dear Heart.

LOL .... I think Marissa would want to call it Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

We are in the country and do not have close neighbors so sharing with them would be extra rough. ; (

Marissa asked if I told Kitty Mittens about Milo. She loves your name. :)

You reminds her of Milo. Before she knew he was a he, she had named him Mittens. When the Vet told her he was a little guy, she changed his name.

Thank you for your prayers for Marissa.

Bears Repeating

Mama is the dearest dear,
She lets us party over here.
She helps us clean up when we’re through,
And doesn’t tell us what to do.

She knows we’d like to be like her,
A very famous parti-er!
A fixture at all social luncheons,
Or anything that deals with munchin’s.

And getting dressed-up is great fun,
As long as it’s not overdone,
For although clothes may make the man,
We bears have a more simple plan!

Carried In His Strong Arms
I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. —Isaiah 46:4

Missionary couple Ray and Sophie de le Haye served heroically in West Africa for more than 40 years. As she grew older, Sophie suffered from the loss of all motor control of her body. That once-strong servant of Christ, who had carried on a ministry of unimaginable stress, was suddenly reduced to helplessness, unable to button her clothes or lift a cup of water to her lips. But she refused to become bitter or self-pitying. In her moments of utter weakness, she would quietly remind herself, “For this you have Jesus.”

Many centuries ago our heavenly Father gave a reassuring message to a burdened prophet of Israel—a message that we need today: “Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, . . . who have been upheld by Me from birth, who have been carried from the womb: Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you” (Isa. 46:3-4).

What an encouraging picture of divine grace! It calls to mind the Good Shepherd bearing a helpless lamb. Whether young or old, we can learn to let God carry us. Weak and burdened, we can lean on His everlasting arms and remind ourselves, “For this I have Jesus.”

The King of love my Shepherd is,
Whose goodness faileth never;
I nothing lack if I am His,
And He is mine forever.  —Baker

You can rest in the arms of Jesus—He’ll never let you down.

Bible in One Year: Leviticus 22–24; Proverbs 19:1-15

If you go down to the woods today
You’re sure of a big surprise
If you go down to the woods today
You better go in disguise
For ev’ry bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today’s the day the Teddy Bears have their picnic.

Ev’ry Teddy Bear who’s been good
Is sure of a treat today.
There’s lots of marvelous things to each
and wonderful games to play
Beneath the trees where nobody sees
They’ll hide and seek as long as they please
‘Cause that’s the way the Teddy Bears have their picnic.

If you go down to the woods today
You’d better not go alone
It’s lovely down in the woods today
But safer to stay at home
For ev’ry bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today’s the day the Teddy Bear’s have their picnic.

Picnic time for Teddy Bears
The little Teddy Bears are having a lovely time today
Watch them, catch them unawares
And see them picnic on their holiday.
See them gaily gad about
They love to play and shout.
They never have any care;
At six o’clock their Mummies and Daddies,
Will take them home to bed,
Because they’re tired little Teddy Bears.

If you go out in the woods today,
You’d better not go alone.
It’s lovely out in the woods today
But safer to stay at home.
For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today’s the day the teddy bears have their picnic.

CHORUS
Every teddy bear, that’s been good
Is sure of a treat today
There’s lots of wonderful things to eat
And wonderful games to play
Beneath the trees, where nobody sees
They’ll hide and seek as long as they please
Today’s the day the teddy bears have their picnic.

That was Sweet that Marissa Asked if you Told me about Milo; she is a Precious Child, and my Heart just Aches over her Kitty. :( Mittens, Milo's Prior Name, is Cute; my Kitty had a Sort of Silly Name, Lol, of Fang-Face. : ) I Gave him that Name because of an Incident in which I was Trying to Get him to Accept a Young Stray Male Kitty that Showed Up not too Long after he did, and he would have None of it, and Nipped me as a Punishment for Petting the Kitty in his Presence! He didn't Even Draw Blood, but he was So Furious with me, So Jealous, and his Teeth were So Sharp, that the Name Fang-Face just Stuck, Lol! : )
