Just meandering about ...
Carbon Footprints
Weve left a lot of footprints,
In walking all about.
That muddy ditch just didnt seem,
To want to let us out.
Then getting past the darkling seas,
Was also quite a trek,
Though sandy beaches still evoke,
The feeling, What the Heck!
It was in heading northward,
Our fate became enmeshed,
With bonfires for our vanities,
And for the way were fleshed.
Without a warming pelt, you see,
We had to borrow some.
We got it as a dinner gift,
Dont ask us where its from.
The borrowed sunlight we uncorked,
Made many a cheerful eve,
And sunwarmth glowing through the night,
Sustained us, I believe.
I fear we made a mess of things,
The cave floor was a fright.
The darkness we left scattered there,
Was but the ash of night.
And though we left some footprints,
Were not the only ones,
We followed a fiery pillar,
And smoke across desert suns.
Fire even came with instructions,
From a bush on a mountain top,
So, though we leave carbon footprints,
By God! We arent going to stop!

Dolly, I just stole your gorgeous picture - looks almost like the water is moving as you look at it - to send to my Morning Prayer group. It is just stunning and what could be more appropriate than Psalm 71:17 for this time of year.

What A Day
What a Day, what a day, what a beautiful day;
When we see our Lord Jesus face to face.
Just imagine the joy that there is going to be
When we see our Jesus some sweet day.
Oh what a day, what a beautiful day!
I hear angels singing, and welcoming us in.
We'll rejoice to see our loved ones then.
It's been so long since they've been gone;
Now I've come, they're welcoming me home.
What a Day, what a day this has been!
I'm so glad, so very glad that Jesus loved me.
He rescued me, and set me free
To love and worship him... What would I have done?
Had I gone the other way, I'd never known this beautiful day.
What a day, what a day, what a grand and glorious day;
What a wonderful day this has been.
Thank you Jesus for bearing all my sin.
I will sing your praises both night and day.
"What a Day", What a Grand and Glorious Day this has been!

Join The Choir
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 89:1
Ill never forget the first time I saw the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir in concert. Nearly 200 people who had been redeemed out of the bowels of Brooklynformer crack addicts and prostitutes includedsang their hearts out to God. Their faces glistened with tears running down their cheeks as they sang about Gods work of redemption and forgiveness in their lives.
As I watched them, I felt somewhat shortchanged. Since I was saved when I was 6, I didnt feel the same depth of gratefulness that they displayed as they sang about the dramatic rescue God had provided for them. I was saved from things like biting my sisternot exactly a significant testimony!
Then the Spirit reminded me that if He had not rescued me when I was young, who knows where my life would be today? What destructive paths would I have stumbled down if He had not been teaching me qualities like servanthood and self-control?
It became clear that I too am a great debtor to His grace. Its not only what we are saved out of but what we have been saved from that makes our hearts worthy of a spot in the chorus of the redeemed. Anyone who receives Jesus as Savior is welcome to join in the choir of praise: I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever (Ps. 89:1).
Hes been faithful, faithful to me;
Looking back, His love and mercy I see.
Though in my heart Ive questioned, even failed to believe,
Hes been faithful, faithful to me. Cymbala
Praise flows freely from the choir of the redeemed.

.thump thump, thump thump .
One heart alone, makes but a single beat
A sound so low and incomplete
A heart all alone, waiting to be heard
Knows not the beauty or songs of singing birds
One heart all alone, knows not love or tenderness
It feels nothing, but has emptiness
A heart alone, searches for its mate
It waits, trust fate, contemplates
Until by chance another beat it hears
That sound it has longed for all these years
Like the timbre of a bass drum
It hears an answer, another thrum Two hearts are beating, strong and true
The sound grows louder, waiting is through
Two hearts are beating, within one another
Searching is over, they have found that lover
Two hearts are beating, they grow and grow
Together forever, never wanting to go
Two hearts are beating, as the sun goes down
A love true, a love strong, both are bound
And as the sound gently fades into night
Two hearts are beating, this they know is just right
thump thump, thump thump ...

Present, Tense!
Being in the present, is not as it would seem,
For many folks spend waking hours, as if theyre in a dream,
With an idiot behind you, who drives a mean machine,
When you are at a red light, as soon as it turns green.
Youre living in the past, thinks he, who seeks to get around,
An obstruction in his driving two more blocks across the town.
The present is so difficult, thats why they call it tense,
Id like to list some items you can use in your defense.
The past is where contentment lies, as much as you have got,
For those who think the Future will bring joy, well, it may not.
We cannot know the turning that the wheels of fate may hold,
Although we know the choice of dying young, or growing old.
The things you are, are written there, those things that you have done,
Unlike the possibilities which must await another sun.
In the Futures where you bank your hopeful dreams that are to come,
Where they will be your guides out of the past that you are from.
The middle ground is narrow, and fleeting in its flight,
From promises at morning time up to regrets at night.
With Time compressing to this point it seems unfair somehow,
That you have only got Today to get so many things done Now.

I'm sorry that I was unavailable all weekend. : ^ (
JustJunior was here and spent lots of time working on
an email problem with my new computer.
Nope ... he didn't solve the problem.
Marissa saw an orthodonist yesterday.
He will re-evaluate her again in August.
She will not mind having braces ....
in fact, she asked if she could have red ones. :)
Thank you again for bringing your posts here.
I appreciate you.
