People with the parasite mentality will still want the unearned and undeserved and will still think they are getting something for nothing. This plan will sound great to them.

Well, at least socialized medicine supports Darwin’s theory of natural selection - only the fittest will survive.

Wow, it’s nice to hear from someone who has seen paradise and can report back.

This should be required reading for all candidates, Republican and Democrat.

On the other hand, my sister was diagnosed with micardial valve prolapse last week, and she’s having open-heart surgery this week.

A gal my wife works with grew up in Canada. She says that she thought the Canadian health care system was good until she moved to the US, now there is no way she’d go back.

“We have waiting lists out the ying yang some as much as 2 years down the road.”

Of course, this only applies to the common folks.

Hillary, her family and members of congress will have immediate access to any available healthcare without having to stand in line.

I live in Canada, my parents have no family doctor now. They went without a doctor for a couple years a while ago too before they found the doctor they just lost (he has cancer now and closed his practice).

Some guy on the local radio call in show was arguing for re-electing the Ontario Liberal Party in our provincial election. He said they improved health care so much that his wife only had to wait 7 weeks to get her ankle problem fixed, and he only had to wait 3 hours in Emergency when he was having chest pains. No, I’m not making this up.

One of the great conceits of socialists is that they won’t make the same mistakes as other socialists. Maybe, but they’ll make a lot of other mistakes.

Don’t know yet if this is “true”, but it’s making the rounds. Do a Google search for this e-mail.

1st thing that turned up for me in results - discussion on the idiot DU forums.

I have another comment.

I have been suffering many digestive issues (in particular) and some other chronic issues of late. I’m also now pregnant. As a result of all this, I’m quite intimate in some discussion boards on our health conditions.

They are open boards and we FREQUENTLY have people from Britain, Canada and even Australia likewise complaining about all their health problems.

In the process, I’ve seen so many times the “foreigners” mention (not to be critical, necessarily) how they can’t go to another specialist without approval from the current doctor, have to wait for this test for 4 months, doctor won’t do this test, etc., etc., etc.

Yes, there have been direct complaint comments, too, but generally it’s what you glean by reading the realities for these people and what’s between the lines.

Of course, I got into a huge fight over socialized med starting with a Brit - who was reasonable. Who WEREN’T reasonable and attacked me were “AMERICANS” on the boards - as usual. The whining liberals who think everything would be peaches&cream if they didn’t have to put up with their horrible American doctors and pharmaceuticals and insurance co’s.

Anyway, it’s eye-opening just to hang out on the health boards for a while.

Why I don’t want government health care. I was at the social security office to get a new card yesterday. I spent a year and a half in that office waiting for a two minute transaction. Meanwhile, there were less than half the windows open and the workers took breaks twice (one hour for lunch and a half hour break) while the waiting room was crowded. It sped up a whole lot after I was called. Only because it was less than an hour before they closed. If anyone is for socialist health care they just need to spend the day waiting in an office like this. If the government can’t even deal with social security properly, I do not want them to deal with my health care.

“13) Oh did I mention that immigrants are covered automatically at tax payer expense having never contributed a dollar to the system and pay no premiums.”

Thats already been a reality in America. Its called “Free Care.” Illegals pay nothing and people with insurance have to subsidized the cost. Sadly its almost like we already have socialized medicine.

My mother watched in horror living in Delaware Mexicans (most likely illegal) inside a thrift store pickpocket a wallet and checkbook right out of a handbag of a a poor young women with a baby running quickly out the door. Its ironic because this poor young women started screaming afterwords "What am I going to do if I have to take my baby to the hospital? I have nothing now?"

Other shoppers helped her look in the parking lot only to find her wallet and checkbook emptied out on the ground.

I wonder how many other people have similar stories but hesitate to tell them because it is not politically correct?
