Paris Hilton is left beer-eft September 20, 2007
HEIRESS PARIS HILTON has been banned from Munichs famed Oktoberfest for cheapening last years event. Locals were outraged when the socialite, 26, arrived at the beer festival in plaits and traditional Bavarian dress to advertise a brand of canned wine. They accused organisers of selling out and making the event, which kicks off again this weekend, look shabby. Munich tourism chief Gabriele Weishaeupl announced yesterday that celebrity promotions are completely prohibited by the new festival rules. |

Congratulations to the Oktoberfest for doing the right thing; too bad the rest of the media won't ban her from the public eye as well.

I thought she had gotten religion and was going to clean up her act. Oktoberfest is a great way to do that I guess.

Beerfest is not to be disrespected.

"I thought she had gotten religion and was going to clean up her act. Oktoberfest is a great way to do that I guess." I don't know about her....
But Oktoberfest and all that BEER...Sounds like a religious experience to me.

My wife is from Germany and we’ve been to Oktoberfest twice. Paris Hilton doesn’t have the fun bags to put on one of those outfits and pull it off.

I totally Agree.Upon reflection, I'm wishing that Oktoberfest had instead of taking the 'safe' route of banning ALL celebrity endorsements from now on, had instead shown the backbone to speak the truth:
"We are today banning Paris Hilton from any involvement whatsoever with Oktoberfest because she is the Whore Of Babylon and brought crappy canned wine to our ancient, respectable event. "
Who knows....one day there might be a worthy celebrity who wants to lend their name and image to a quality German beer, and now that brewer will be deprived of a marketing opportunity.
"Paris Hilton / Whore of Babylon shown bringing her crappy canned wine to the Oktoberfest"

Avenue Vine Paris Hiltons Prosecco Party
September 28, 2006
Paris Hiltons Prosecco Party
Party girl Paris Hilton is in the middle of yet another controversy. No, not that kind of controversy. Get your mind out of the gutter. This week, the drama is swirling around Rich Prosecco, a sparkling white wine from Veneto that comes in a gold can, and Hilton's connection to it as the product's new pitch girl. Italy's Road Safety Society is reportedly outraged that Hilton--who was arrested earlier this month after failing a Breathalyzer test when she was pulled over by police in Hollywood--is starring in ads for an alcoholic beverage.
To make matters worse, some of Veneto's prosecco producers are protesting the canned variation, insisting it will tarnish the image of their beloved wine. Others, however, say there's no need for sour grapes. "No one gets upset over caviar being sold in a can," Luca Zaia, Veneto's vice president for agricultural affairs, told the Italian news service ANSA. "So I don't see what all the fuss is about." Despite the scandal, Hilton continues her promotional partying spree. On Monday, she dressed as a Bavarian barmaid in Munich to hawk the sparkling beverage, then flew to Veneto via helicopter for a publicity shoot. Not to worry, she wasn't at the controls.

WWF should ban her from wrestling events because she would cheapen them, too.
Poor girl. How's she gonna make a buck?
