Good Monday morning!

Greece is burning up!

President Bush will visit New Orleans at the end of the week.

Clean-up continues across the MIdwest after last week's rain and storms.

We're all going to get tired of hearing about Diana and Katrina this week.

Just checking in, mid afternoon. We’re back in the mid 80’s today, but absent the humidity. It’s pretty easy to deal with after the last couple of weeks.

It’s nice here, too, IG. Unfortuately, hubby and I had a meeting most of the day, so I couldn’t enjoy it much.

I’ll be surprised if Chertoff is chosen.

I just hope it’s somebody who likes being on OFFENSE!

ARGH!!

I came home at lunch today and both dogs had diarrhea Everywhere !!! I'm still in a bad mood. We took them to a doggy park yesterday - it had a pond (green pond !) and that was probably what did it.

Sorry to hear you had such a clean-up job, especially at lunch time.

I hope those poor babies are better. Be sure to keep checking them for water intake and if they don’t stop with the diarrhea a vet is in their immediate future.

Re: Sen. Craig (Idaho-R)

The story was first published today in Roll Call ... a Capitol Hill newspaper. The newspaper’s Web site says Craig was arrested by a plainclothes officer investigating complaints of lewd conduct in the men’s room at the airport.

In a statement issued today, Craig sys he was not involved in any inappropriate conduct.

Sam the hound dog acquired an intestinal infection during our trip. Two shots of penicillin and a weeks worth of twice-a-day antibiotics did the trick.

Oh, and $95 in vet bills.

I was in St George, Utah last weekend. They have an ampitheatre there called Tucahan. They perform musicals and plays, we saw “Cinderella” and “My Fair Lady”. On Sunday morning, I was eating breakfast and they had Fox News on the TV. The commentators were having heart failure because President Bush dared to compare the fall of Vietnam to what might happen if the US leaves Iraq prematurely. I guess that is the MSMs territory, comparing Vietnam to Iraq, except for the bad things that occurred because the Americans left early. It was quite nauseating.

Orrin Hatch’s name is being floated as a replacement for Gonzales.

Orrin Hatch would be a good AG, but I think he's needed in the Senate more than at Justice.

Hey, I just had a brainstorm -- how about Ted Olson for AG???

I would love to see the Dems try to explain to HIM what 9/11 really means...;-))

Six members of the Paw family, each listing the house at 41 Shelbourne Ave. as their residence, have donated a combined $45,000 to the Clinton since 2005, for her presidential campaign, her Senate re-election last year and her political action committee. In all, the six Paws have donated a total of $200,000 to Democratic candidates since 2005, election records show.

It isn’t obvious how the Paw family is able to afford such political largess. Records show they own a gift shop and live in a 1,280-square-foot house that they recently refinanced for $270,000. William Paw, the 64-year-old head of the household, is a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service who earns about $49,000 a year, according to a union representative. Alice Paw, also 64, is a homemaker. The couple’s grown children have jobs ranging from account manager at a software company to “attendance liaison” at a local public high school. One is listed on campaign records as an executive at a mutual fund.

And then there is this:

“...Roll Call, citing the report, said Sgt. Dave Karsnia made the arrest after an encounter in which he was seated in a stall next to a stall occupied by Craig. Karsnia described Craig tapping his foot, which Karsnia said he “recognized as a signal used by persons wishing to engage in lewd conduct.”

“Craig tapped his toes several times and moved his foot closer to my foot. I moved my foot up and down slowly,” the report states. “The presence of others did not seem to deter Craig as he moved his right foot so that it touched the side of my left foot which was within my stall area.”

Good morning to all you fine folks (and some of you others, too!) out there in cyberspace.

I just got back from Back-to-School night at the high school. A group of us were discussing tonight’s eclipse. Just as we said it would reach its totality at 8:22 one of the group said, “Oh cool! Where is it?” There was silence for a moment and then I said, “Up in the sky, Larry.”

Here’s your sign.
