I don't watch too much television, but one of my favorite shows is Supernatural on the CW.
So, I was just curious about what other Freepers like to watch.
... oh! And forgot Celebrity Fit Club! on VH1 ...
Not that I know - barely remember it when it was on in the '60s.
CBS reran them after the 10 o'clock news for a short time around 1990 - taped 'em then.
Never seen the alternate version of "Chimes of Big Ben," though.
Right now “Frasier” is my favorite show! I was going through a divorce when the show first started and I really needed the laughs. I watched it every week. Since it went off the air I have not watched it until recently, and now we TIVO all 4 episodes a day and watch them all that evening. Without commercials, it’s only about 1.5 hours.
I think “Frasier” is perfect ensemble theater! It’s practically Moliere-like in its comedy. The references actually dare to infer that the audience is educated enough to get the jokes. I love it. The actors are brilliant. The most macho guys on there (Dad, Bulldog) are played by gays! They do a fantastic job.
The only other show I am watching currently is Rescue Me. Sigh, it is always so HEAVY. Let’s see, if not a happy ending to an episode, a happy MOMENT! I know it’s a “brave” show and always “pushing the envelope,” but I think the envelope is in free fall at this point. And no, I did not know what a spank bank was! No one believes me.
Monk
Broadcast:
Heroes
Jericho (it's back by popular demand) "NUTS"
The Unit
CSI
Criminal Minds
Shark
Cable:
Stargates (killing off SG-1 after starting to get their second wind wind sucks)
History Channel (Modern Marvels)
Buffy (what's not to like about a little 5'5" blond taking out evil, blood sucking demons[democrats] :-))
Firefly/Serenity (Capt. Malcom "I aim to Misbehave" Reynolds is okay in my book) [BTW: It looks like Kaylee will replace Dr. Beckett on Atlantis]
Getting into Dr. Who (Losing Billie Piper sucked)
And since I like SciFi: I'll just say that I DO NOT watch NuBSG. (not that BSG couldn't have used an update, but RDM's version sucks donkey #icks)
Oh damn,I forgot Bab-5. Great show. You do know JMS is doing a direct to DVD series: ‘The Lost Tales”. Don’t miss it!
:’)
Wow, you don’t like TOS? I’m keepin’ an eye on you... ;’) I used to look forward to new Star Trek episodes, but felt I was suffering through DS9, and other than a few episodes (the Tribbles time-travel one; the one with Iggy Pop; and the one about the arrogant guy who terraformed planets) I doubt I’ll have any interest in that cast or episodes again. STV was just Gilligan’s Island in space, and I lost interest in that until the latter part of the last season. STE was on a low-power (or maybe just distant) station around here, and really stunk up the place (what little I saw of it). :’) TNG I’ve got on VHS (Columbia House), every episode of it, so, if anyone’s interested, I’ll part with it for, well, I’m not sure, a bunch of cash... think of it as completing your TNG memorabilia collection... ;’)
:’) There have been shows I’ve liked which had the rug pulled out way too early, such as “Hidden Hills”; I liked “Ed” for quite a while, and probably saw every episode of it, but it was really getting kinda tiresome near the end. Kudos to those involved making a likeable lawyer character. ;’)
Same here -- it's truly funny. I wonder how it stacks up against the British version?
Another show I like -- totally different category -- is Austin City Limits on PBS.
Back in the day I enjoyed Northern Exposure.
I’ve actually found a couple of complete Prisoner episodes on YouTube. It really was light years ahead of its time.
BTW, The Prisoner, best theme song ever!
Don’t watch much TV; I don’t even have a TV set. Anything of interest I watched at a friend’s or relative’s. (Or at work; there’s a TV in the lounge.)
Shows I liked:
TWILIGHT ZONE
GILIGAN’S ISLAND (silly but very warm-hearted!)
FRASIER
LAW & ORDER (liberal, but intelligent)
Can’t think of anything else I would even go out of my way to see.
Most anything on TLC/HGTV
The Real Deal
Dirty Jobs
24
Lost
I was fond of the blue dot that lingered when you turned the set off.
In other words:
Richard C. Davis
Mike Rowe
Kiefer Sutherland
Josh Holloway
Need I say more?
NCIS and Battlestar Gallactica.
Sopranos, King of the Hill, NHL Hockey, TCM, Classic Star Trek, Robin Hood, Yes Minister, Are You Being Served?,
Blackadder..
What was that thing chasing him that looked like a giant ping pong ball?
