Did they ever do an Easter episode before? All I can think of offhand is the Janet Reno in an Easter Bunny suit but that wasn’t an Easter centered episode.

Kill the Rabbit! "Kill the Wabbit!" I was thinking about the "What's Opera Doc" cartoon set to Wagnerian music.

Kill the Wabbit
I am sure they were referring to that and should have had Bill Donahue pronounce it that way!

Oh my, the pope hat theory makes sense! I thought that was funny as heck. And the, "What should we tell people to do about their lives?" with the silent rabbit was just great. SP perfection.
Our dear departed 'Snuff' would have enjoyed this show.

They weren’t attacking the Vatican; they were attacking the American Catholic League.
As a devout Catholic who got flack for defending the Virgin Mary episode, may I say that I found this episode absolutely brilliant and hilarious.

That was my thinking.. They weren’t slamming the pope...

That was my thinking.. They werent slamming the pope...Exactly. Parker and Stone don't have a problem with "religion" per se. Whether you believe in him or not, Jesus was the most important human being who ever walked the face of the Earth.
I think what they are saying is that Jesus himself wouldn't condone the crap that some of his supposed "followers" do to others.
Witness the Pope saying 4 times "That's not very Christian". Some of these folks need to actually read the Bible and listen to what Jesus said and did, rather than use the Bible to beat their fellow citizens over the head with.

Before he was identified as Donahue, I thought it was supposed to be Karl Rove.
The rabbit stew with extra meat was gold, too. Oh, and Stan's line to Jesus: "Eric Cartman can never find out about this."

Jesus with the throwing star, the slow motion blood, beautiful!
And the ending “How should we run the lives of our members?”
