...With a record of 2-11, the silver-and-Honolulu blue are firmly entrenched at No. 32 on any power poll in this spiral arm of the galaxy. Entrenched, that is, until another loss drops them behind Ohio State, Florida and the Hamburg Sea Devils. Think it can't get worse? Hey, this is the Lions. NFL schedule makers saw fit to arrange the endgame Kitty Cats' so, so long season likewise: at the Green Bay Packers where the Lions haven't won since a guy named Brett Favre took over there (that's right, 1992); against the Chicago Bears in a game which figures to see Motor City backers immortalize the chant "Fire *&#!!%&ing Millen!"; and at the Dallas Cowboys , who on New Year's Eve will probably looking to bag the No. 2 seed in the NFC... Kevin Jones, who was knocked out of the loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, figures to be out for the remainder of the season... Pro Bowl nominee Shaun Rogers... was slapped by the commissioner after testing positive for steroids. The judgment had Rogers forcibly sitting out four games and giving up $250,000. Naturally, "Big Baby" was innocent, protesting that the positive test represented a product that the 354-pound Rogers used to help him control his weight. Or he has asthma. Or he thought they were Shawne Merriman's Pez. Or something... Team officials announced yesterday that WR Mike Williams - you remember him: the former first-round draft pick cum The Most Useless Player in the NFL Today - flunked a weigh-in. At 240 pounds, Williams only missed the target set by Rod Marinelli and Co. by 20. Though no punitive measures have been mentioned, any punishment would seem pointless other then some quality time on the bench... Fire &#!!%&ing Millen.

:') Ben Wallace went to the Bulls though. I just heard (not that I care about basketball) that the Pistons lost eight straight!
Heck, Jason Hanson is the only decent player on the entire team.
The Pistons are 13-7. They've won their last two.
I think he's a goner, even with last years *contract extension*.
Ford was born rich, and to him owning the Lions is like a model train set is to most kids. He hasn't a clue about much of anything except his trust fund.
Must have been a re-run. :') Looks like eight wins in a row a little while back.
All I know is that they kicked the Mavs behinds here at few nights ago.
The only one that needs firing is the same guy that has needed firing for the past 20 years - THE OWNER!
And his dad before him, going back over 40 years. :'(
:') I guess the Red Wings lost to, hmm, Ottawa, about an hour ago.
This Detroiter Dont Need Em.
And while we're on the subject, congratulations Marty Mornhinweg! Glad we could be there for ya. ;'DWhy it's great to watch these guys lose10. Bill Parcells... contemptuous attitude can make it easy to cheer against him... It's just fun to watch the guy with all the answers -- for his players, for his coaches, for the media -- flunk the test every now and then. Parcells is so condescending and so contemptuous of others when they make mistakes, that it's a sincere joy to watch the Tuna flounder in the pressure cooker of late-game decision-making. Having Bledsoe firing away in the closing seconds against the Seahawks was pure Marty Mornhinweg.

"And with the 2nd pick in the 2007 NFL draft, the Detroit Lions select wide receiver....."
NFL site sez Falcons fired Mora, Cardinals fired Green, Denver cornerback Darrent Williams was gunned down after the Broncos' loss to SF.
I think yesterday's game should give Lions fans some hope for next year.
Kitna is about as good as the Lions have had since Bobby Layne. They played a lot of teams tough, but they collapsed in the fourth quarter. If they can shore up their offensive line and get a decent pass rusher, they have the talent at the skill positions to be a nice team next year.
If the Lions don't draft for the offensive line they will never be good.
yes, exactly!
Yeah, definitely they need to give Kitna (or whomever winds up in the job this year) more protection. Receivers need to catch the freakin' ball. Any time the bastards drop more than one pass during a road game, the rest of the team flies home and the dropper takes the Greyhound. :')
I think Marinelli's approach to getting playing time will eventually pay off. I'm sure the NFL is tough but they do need to catch the ball. Close doesn't count as it does in predicting the weather. Most people would not get paid for making as many mistakes as some of our formerly beloved Lions.
