Yeah, definitely they need to give Kitna (or whomever winds up in the job this year) more protection. Receivers need to catch the freakin' ball. Any time the bastards drop more than one pass during a road game, the rest of the team flies home and the dropper takes the Greyhound. :')
I think Marinelli's approach to getting playing time will eventually pay off. I'm sure the NFL is tough but they do need to catch the ball. Close doesn't count as it does in predicting the weather. Most people would not get paid for making as many mistakes as some of our formerly beloved Lions.
