This is Mimi, the first cat to give birth to puppies, her owner claims.
Brazilian Cassia Aparecida de Souza, 18, says three of the cats six offspring, which were born three months after Mimi mated with a neighbours dog, have canine traits.
A geneticist from the Passo Fundo University plans to take blood samples from the animals to verify the claim.

A more likely explanation is cat's kittens died and she chose to nurse the puppies, which is the kind of thing that happens all the time.

Someone snuck in the newborn puppies.
Cats and dogs don't mate, and if they did, their DNA wouldn't let anything fertilize. The biology is just too specific. Two very different species can't breed.
It's like saying a man could fertilize fish eggs. It can't happen.

Maybe we should ask this Senator if his mom worked at a horse farm?

No kidding, whelps in utero that long would die. Feel bad for the little pups though that cat doesn't look too happy being stuck between them.

Maybe it's just me, but those pups compared to that cat look like the equivalent of about a 56 pound baby for a human.

Last time the media ran a story like this, it turned out to be a hoax.
