Fellow FReepers - I ask that you say a prayer for the family of one of my son's classmates/teammates as he lost his battle with cancer this afternoon. I had the pleasure of being his T-Ball coach this last season and getting to know him.
The battle wasn't long - lasting only 6 weeks from diagnosis to his passing. But that doesn't make it much easier. It will be a difficult road ahead for the family and they could use all the power of prayer they can get.
Thanks and God Bless.

All,
Thank you so very much for your thoughts and prayers. Please keep Cody and his family there as a lot of strength is still needed.
I thought I'd provide some additional info on Cody so you can learn a little more about the young boy called to Heaven so soon. Here is his obituary as it appeared in this morning's Hartford Courant:

Cody Robert Camp
CAMP, Cody Robert The true gentle loving spirit of Cody Robert Camp, age 6, beloved son and courageous hero of Donald and Patricia (Cody) Camp of Colchester, who was born Tuesday, April 11, 2000 at 6:57 p.m., was received into the loving arms of Jesus and his grandparents, Edward and Ann Cody and Robert Camp on Friday, (October 13, 2006). He was surrounded by his loving family at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford after a brave struggle with Burkitt's Lymphoma. Shortly thereafter, Cody was escorted home to Colchester by his loving extended family from the Hartford Police Department. He also leaves his sister, Bryanna Camp, who he adored; his paternal grandmother, Marjorie Camp of Colchester; aunts and uncles, Edward and Janet Cody of Clifton park, NY, Ann and John Zory of Old Saybrook, Kathleen and Robert Stapleton of Marlborough, Jean and Jeff Hagen of Berlin, Darryl Camp of Colchester, Dennis Camp of Hartford, Janice Camp of Colchester, Christine Camp of Wallingford; cousins, Alyssa, Christine, Meagan, Edward, Daniel, Kathryn, Sarah, Melissa and several other cousins, numerous friends, soccer and A's T-ball teammates and special friends, Cooper, Alex and Alec. Cody made the most of his time here with us. He excelled in his studies at Miss Gromko's preschool class and then at Jack Jackter Elementary School in Mrs. Tanner's Kindergarten class. His greatest joy was found in his love of sports. He loved to play Soccer and T-Ball with the A's, took golf lessons and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. The family will receive guests 2-8 p.m. Monday at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday directly at St. Andrew Church, 128 Norwich Avenue, Colchester, with Fr. Michael Giannitelli, officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains, NY 10605. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Connecticut Children's Medical Center for their care, love and compassion extended to Cody and his family during his illness, as well as our loving friends of Colchester, especially Debbie Bates.

I wanted to thank you all again for sending your prayers up for the Camp family. The wake was held on Monday and the services were yesterday.
I will tell you that it was an awesome sight. Since Cody's Dad is a Hartford police officer, they pulled out all the stops, literally. There was a police escort all the way from Colchester to the internment in Hartford stopping traffic on interstate highways. There was a full color guard in attendance and even a fly-over of one of the HPD helicopters.
Don, Pat and Don's brother, Daryl, got up to say a few words during the service and it broke my heart and all the hearts, I'm sure, of those in attendance.
Cody was the epitome of courage throughout the entire ordeal. May his soul rest in peace and may God watch over his family every minute of every day as I pray He does for each and every one of you.
Take care and God bless.
P.S. I'm using "All" in the To: field hoping it will ping everyone that's replied so far. If anyone reading this knows that this won't work, please advise as I want to be sure to let everyone know their prayers are very much appreciated. Thanks.
