McGreevey 'in love' from the first kiss ("We made passionate, whispering, masculine love”)
The Star Ledger ^ | Friday, September 15, 2006 | Mark Mueller

Posted on 09/15/2006 7:55:45 AM PDT by dead

In his highly anticipated memoir, former Gov. James E. McGreevey writes of his deep love for the man who ended his political career, the destruction of his second marriage and the events that forced him into his stunning admission on national television that he is gay.

In "The Confession," the former governor also touches on New Jersey's sometimes seamy political landscape, where cash, cronyism and a handful of powerful men intersect.

But the 384-page book focuses mostly on McGreevey's secret life, from his frequent sexual encounters with men at highway rest stops to his infatuation with Golan Cipel, the Israeli national McGreevey plucked from obscurity and placed on the state payroll as his homeland security adviser.

Though electrified by Cipel from their first meeting in Israel, where McGreevey was on a trade mission in 2000, the former governor said the two did not have sexual rela tions until early December 2001, when Dina Matos McGreevey was in the hospital for the birth of the couple's daughter, Jacqueline.

As a State Police guard detail waited outside the then-governor elect's Woodbridge condominium, McGreevey took Cipel by the hand and led him upstairs.

"We undressed and he kissed me. It was the first time in my life that a kiss meant what it was supposed to mean -- it sent me through the roof," he writes. "I was like a man emerging from 44 years in a cave to taste pure air for the first time, feel direct sunlight on pallid skin, warmth where there had only ever been a bone-chilling numbness.

"I pulled him to the bed and we made love like I'd always dreamed: a boastful, passionate, whispering, masculine kind of love."

I like the replies much more than the article.

Gross homo stuff sells, even on FreeRepublic.

I also posted an article on the fact that John Lynch (former mayor of New Brunswick, former Senate President, and Democratic Party broker) is going to plead guilty today to corruption.

But with no gross gay angle, exactly one person posted a response.

I never realized there were so many "puke" photos on the Internet. Pardon me, I think I'm going to throw up. Freepers seem to have an addiction to Google.

Jacqueline Matos McGreevey was born December 7, 2001 (a premature birth) after her mother, Dina, had been hospitalized for six weeks.

Good heavens . . . what a freak.

I wonder if he goes into the same sordid detail about the incident on the beach in Cape May when he "fell down and broke his leg" -- in which a story about how he was walking along a boardwalk or on a pile of rocks with his wife was fabricated to cover up what really happened.

I'm with you. Wanting to read and even caring about this crap is no different that the voyeurs who wanted to know every detail of BJ Clinton's trysts with Monica. The intererst in the details are as sick as the narcissists who want to "tell all" about themselves. Who gives a $^&%*(

Apparently, McGreevey's highly touted Oprah interview did NOT go over well with her audience. Not surprising. How come cheating is OK, as long as you do it with a member of your own sex? When did THAT happen????

"How nice that his daughter Jacqueline will get to read this for herself someday. What a selfish selfish man."

I agreed with you up until you referred to him as a "man".

This guy is a criminal. His penchant for Israeli Seamen does not excuse him appointing his non citizen lover to be New Jersey's Homeland Security Director.

I suspect most of us have no interest in the details themselves. The fact that this dysfunctional, f#cked-up freak -- who was once the fair-haired boy in New Jersey Democratic circles -- feels a need to make them public is a huge story unto itself.
