In his highly anticipated memoir, former Gov. James E. McGreevey writes of his deep love for the man who ended his political career, the destruction of his second marriage and the events that forced him into his stunning admission on national television that he is gay.
In "The Confession," the former governor also touches on New Jersey's sometimes seamy political landscape, where cash, cronyism and a handful of powerful men intersect.
But the 384-page book focuses mostly on McGreevey's secret life, from his frequent sexual encounters with men at highway rest stops to his infatuation with Golan Cipel, the Israeli national McGreevey plucked from obscurity and placed on the state payroll as his homeland security adviser.

Though electrified by Cipel from their first meeting in Israel, where McGreevey was on a trade mission in 2000, the former governor said the two did not have sexual rela tions until early December 2001, when Dina Matos McGreevey was in the hospital for the birth of the couple's daughter, Jacqueline.
As a State Police guard detail waited outside the then-governor elect's Woodbridge condominium, McGreevey took Cipel by the hand and led him upstairs.
"We undressed and he kissed me. It was the first time in my life that a kiss meant what it was supposed to mean -- it sent me through the roof," he writes. "I was like a man emerging from 44 years in a cave to taste pure air for the first time, feel direct sunlight on pallid skin, warmth where there had only ever been a bone-chilling numbness.
"I pulled him to the bed and we made love like I'd always dreamed: a boastful, passionate, whispering, masculine kind of love."

That is indeed Mr. NutJob of Iran!
Oh, dear God! I'm trying to eat lunch here!
Good point.
I sometimes wonder why some people have the need to make public their private and lurid affairs, and I've come to the conclusion that narcissistic and disturbed individuals enjoy shocking people a kind of mental masturbation for their self-gratification and self-indulgences. The need to express their sexual exploits to thousands or millions of people isn't a sign of honesty, but a sign of deeply disturbed individuals.
The question here is, why is the paper publishing these details? Is it a subtle effort to weaken the moral fiber of society and conscientize the public on changing their perspective regarding their view of homosexuals? After all, McGreevey is selling his book.
However, the article emphasis is on McGreevey's sexual prowess, instead of his lack of support for his wife Dina when she was in the hospital giving birth to their daughter while McGreevey was having sex with Cipel.
If he was a Republican, the writing would've been different.
Ironically, McGreevey's screwed-up, pathological behavior is likely to turn people off in a way that his corruption never would.
I hope so.
Cue the 70s wocka-wocka guitar porn music.
I REPEAT...
...WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT, OVER.
