Week Three College Football
Week Two gave everyone the earliest #1 vs. #2 showdown in modern college football history. The game, however, turned out to not really live up to the hype. This week we are treated to SEVERAL big games, some of which are in conference in the SEC, and a historically significant rivalry renews in South Bend.
As always, all rankings are from the ESPN.com Scoreboard page. I will also list any games of interest (FReepmail me if you want your team included and I will include them from here on out) and any other games listed in my Yahoo league.
GAME of the WEEK
Saturday, September 16th, 2006 3:30 PM on CBS
(6) LSU at (3) Auburn (-3.5)
This is going to be a fun game to watch I think. We have Auburn which has been the odds-on favorite to win the SEC this year against a very good and very fast LSU team that is looking to spoil the Auburn season AND put itself into the national spotlight. Both teams feature strong defenses, good running games and good coaching. Fewest mistakes wins this game. Im going with the home team.
Auburn 16 LSU 13
Thursday September 14th, 2006 (ESPN Thursday Night Game)
Maryland at (5) West Virginia (-17)
West Virginia gets one of their rivalry games out of the way early. This should be a decent test for a team that hasnt beaten a BCS School yet.
Its not in the pickem league, but Ill give a pick anyway.

This is worst than last years Alamo Bowl on officiating!
Nope, just your usual grossly incompent Big 12 refs.
That huge return may have just won the game for OK, despite the refs
I have never typed this before, and never will again. Go Sooners!!!!!!!!!
I am done with college football. Not 1, but 2 replays that looked like they'd stand up in court. OU got jobbed.
I hope your Huskers win tonight, but luck and really crappy review teams favor the PAC 10. It will be a long time before I watch another college football game.
last second field goal, baby
kick is no good! blocked! ouch. the zebras do it again. pro football, college football, nowhere is safe
Damn!! I picked Oregon to win but I think this sucks!
Screw the effin' refs.....
The finish on that LSU/Auburn game, now this finish in the ORE/OK game....USC/Nebraska--oughtabegood.
Blocked the FG. At least two wild finishes today with horrid officiating.
Ya, but at least that game the reffs were equaly sucky, OK was just robbed.
I swear these guy's need to have some real consiquences when the Reffs through a game this badly.
LSU ROBBED!
I'm sorry, but that call...LSU's QB proceeded to earn that loss with his failure to dump it on the run, but Auburn should be ASHAMED to accept a clearly stolen win like that.
OKLAHOMA ROBBED...TWICE!
The state of Oklahoma should call for a boycott of all Oregon-origin goods until that travesty of a game is ruled a complete failure on the part of the officials to properly rule on both the on-side kick AND the succeeding pass interference call.
I don't like LSU, and I don't like Oklahoma...but the NCAA should be doing something about such clearly pisspoor officiating.
LSU deserves an apology. Oklahoma deserves REPARATIONS.
Ping to 255.
Oh, man, I'm glad I didn't know this thread was here until just now.
I AM FURIOUS!!!!!
My Sooners were robbed!!!!!
Scum-sucking lying, cheating, thieving Coastie refs!!!!!!!!
Why can't we sue???!!!
BOOMER DAMN SOONER!!!!
Got Jesse Jacksons phone number?
I'd like to know just what replay the booth was looking at on the on-side kick.
I'm still not clear on the ability to "review" a call. My daughter tried to explain it to me, something about the timing of when the whistle is blown by the official.
I've never liked those call reviews, however it seems to me, should be you can or you can't. Sometime the officials take to long to blow the whistles.
IMO, they should just do away with it altogether.
