JonBenet

Two days into the JonBenet Ramsey/John Karr media deluge, a mid-fortyish male in line next to me at a food shop groaned at the day's newspaper headlines. "Now," muttered this stranger--though he wore a baseball cap with bill turned backward, which suggested a few things about him one could know right off--"now we're not going to hear about anything but this damned story for the next six weeks."

I sympathized, forbearing to tell him that it would have plenty of competition, what with the networks set to embark on round-the-clock wallowing in the Katrina anniversary.

A good link to check out is this one.

After reading it, Patsy does appear to have had some part in her Daughter's demise.

Has the entire ransom note been on the internet before? Anyone have a link?

Also means "fratboy" mentality. You know, loudmouth, beer-drinking, funloving guys, driving top-down Jeep CJs and Wranglers. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Some of the "evidence" that site presents is intriguing.

I take issue, however, with the contention that certain words or phrases in the ransom note are innately "feminine."

As I said, my brother is a sociopath, officially diagnosed back in the 60's. If you were to meet him, you would think he's the nicest most kind person you've ever met. He has a silver tongue and a heart of stone. He's a pathological liar. He cannot be trusted by anybody who has known him since he was a child. Burke may be innocent, but the parents' actions were vaguely familiar. If John had killed her, Patsey would have been outraged. If Patsey had done it, John would be outraged. The only thing that would have brought them to act this way and hang together until her death would have been Burke...........

"Another MSM lie that you take as truth.
The ransom note mentioned $118,000.
That was NOT the amount of John's bonus."

It was close enough. The exact amount of John Ramsey's bonus was $118,117.50. To state that his bonus was $118,000 makes that statement more than a guess and definately indicates inside information- ie. Patsy Ramsey!

Your theory is the same as my theory has always been. Little brother may have had a bit of jealousy at all the attention that little sister always got. Who knows what happened? Maybe he accidentally killed her & mother found them. A mother would want to cover up for her child & thus the long rambling letter - trying to direct suspicion to an outsider & not someone in the family.

This is the only scenario that is anywhere close to logical in my mind.

Hadn't the Boulder County DA ruled out Burke as a suspect because they said that he didn't have the physical strength to strangle JonBenet?

I thought I had heard or read that somewhere.

How much physical strength does it take to twist a garrote (sp?)

TEXT OF THE JONBENET RANSOM NOTE:

Mr. Ramsey,

Listen Carefully! We are a group of individuals that represent a small foreign faction. We respect your bussines, but not the country that it serves. At this time, we have your daughter in our possession. She is safe and unharmed and if you want her to see 1997, you must follow our instructions to the letter.

You will withdraw $118,000.00 from your account. $100,000 will be in $100 bills and the remaining $18,000 in $20 bills. Make sure that you bring an adequate size attaché to the bank. When you get home you will put the money in a brown paper bag. I will call you between 8 and 10 am tomorrow to instruct you on delivery. The delivery will be exhausting so I advise you to be rested. If we monitor you getting the money early we might call you early to arrange an earlier delivery of the money and hence a earlier pickup of your daughter.

Any deviation of my instructions will result in the immediate execution of your daughter. You will also be denied her remains for a proper burial. The two gentlemen watching over your daughter do not particularly like you so I advise you not to provoke them.

Speaking to anyone about your situation, such as Police, F.B.I., etc., will result in your daughter being beheaded. If we catch you talking to a stray dog, she dies. If you alert bank authorities, she dies. If the money is in way marked or tampered with, she dies. You will be scanned for electronic devices and if any are found, she dies. You can try to deceive us, but be warned we are familiar with law enforcement countermeasures and tactics. You stand a 99% chance of killing your daughter if you try to outsmart us. Follow our instructions and you stand a 100% chance of getting her back. You and your family are under constant scrutiny, as well as the authorities. Don't try to grow a brain John. You are not the only fat cat around so don't think that killing will be difficult. Don't underestimate us, John. Use that good, Southern common sense of yours. It's up to you now John!

Victory!

S.B.T.C.

I don't know what their reason was for ruling him out, if in fact they did. But a 9-10 year old boy against a 6 year old girl is not an even match. The garrot could have been added after the fact of the fractured skull killed her.......

The only thing worse than the imbecilic coverage in the MSM of this case is the morons who pick at the carcass of a tragedy making bloodsport out of guessing things they couldn't possibly know.

The evidence all points to an intruder.
Why is it so hard to believe that she was killed by an intruder?

Its pretty obvious that the killer knew who John was. He did refer to his southern roots in the ransom note.

Do you really think that Patsy would have used that number if she was the killer?

Or perhaps more to the point - would a 9yo have the smarts to fashion a garrote & use it?

This is really no different than the people who still theorize over what happened to Amelia Earhart, who killed JFK or who kidnapped the Lindbergh baby.

Obviously there are things (in all these cases) that we dont know - but going off of what we do know, it's fair to make a guess.

Over the years, I've read four books on the Kennedy assassination and have been to Dealey Plaza twice. I don't consider myself to be a fan of "bloodsport".

To me, the note points to an insider - too much familiarity. It is just my opinion - but I think mother stumbled on a horrible accident - & in her covering it up - a seething resentment of her husband came out in the "ransom note". Don't try to grow a brain....etc

Brother could have just inflicted the head injury & mother could have finished it off with the garote so JonBenet couldn't tell what happened. Very, very sad when you think about it all.

I would implore everyone not to judge the Ramsey's too strongly. They were and are both very strong Christians, unfortunately you won't hear anything about that in the media.

I know a 9 year old that would take delight in fashioning a garrote & using it. Yes, it's scary - but there are some children out there like that. Think Jeffrey Dahmer....

Someone who worked with Mr. Ramsey could have known exactly how much his bonus was.

You and others on here and elsewhere have accused the Ramseys of murder. Too many people have read "The National Enquirer" and ignored other facts in the case.

If the murderer had hidden in the house while the family was out, they could have picked the pen and paper up at their leisure as they rambled through the house.

JonBenet had two scars on her that looked suspiciously like stun gun scars, and she had been assaulted leaving DNA evidence in private areas to put it delicately as possible. That would have hardly been likely to have come from a female. A sexual predator could have logically crept to her bedroom, stunned her with a stun gun, stifled her cries, then hauled her down to the basement - oh, and a predator would have logically also have had adult strength.

From what I've seen of these kiddie beauty pageant parents, the mothers generally are the ones who do push it because they are convinced that their daughters are future "Miss Americas" or otherwise superstars of some sort - not realizing that the Miss America thing has become pretty much passe' and boring to most people. They also don't realize how unlikely it is that their ambitions will be realized. The fathers in these cases seem to be a bit unassertive and tussie whooped by their wives. It IS very unwise in this day and age for parents to be gussying up their little girls in such provocative outfits and parading them around stages in such alluring poses. I have come to think that it is a redneck thing, and I am from a Southern redneck background myself to a certain degree.
