Wow!!!! what a lot of work went into this one!!!!!! looks like fun. I am really into sci fi & special effects.. I posted a star wars thread on Finest once & well, lets, just say that it was NOT the thread of the year. Because I was a relatively "new" thread poster, people were polite..

I never saw the 1933 King Kong.. is it available to rent? worth seeing? I think with your info it would be good to see...In fact the only King Kong I did see was the last one and I liked it although not the ending. .. YOU KNOW what is going to happen (like watching the Titanic) but somehow, hope against hope it will be different.

I am really into sci fi & special effects.. I posted a star wars thread on Finest once & well, lets, just say that it was NOT the thread of the year.Thank you, Dolly. Again, the thread didn't go quite as planned this week. Jon and I were both supposed to do a subject, and we were each going to have our own little sections. I chose this subject as my topic. Sadly, Jon was very busy this week and I found myself stuck with my own part and nothing else. So I had to wing it!
BTW, it's worth mentioning that most of the images I used on this thread have, to my knowledge, never been seen on the internet before.

Yeah, it should be. It is definitely worth seeing. Bear in mind that "King Kong" is an oldie, and has things people criticize about it...the acting is bad, the dialogue is hammy, and the special effects are dated...but the movie has a sort of primal element about it, and that's what makes it a classic.
In the new one, Kong was portrayed a lot more sympathetically than in any previous versions.
