I have always crinched on these threads when I read "proven".... I was taught it should be "proved"... It grates on me almost as bad as "for free"... but according to some academicians... see below...

even the FR spell checker doesn't like "proven"..... but...

I had thoughts almost identical to yours.

We have no idea whether Gottlieb had anything at all to do with the alleged incident in Raleigh.

But I had been thinking that, if he did do something wrong there, it could be because of his rage at (possibly) being used in the Duke lacrosse case.

I just have a hard time coming down hard on the AV or the Durham police. For me, everything in this fiasco leads back to Mr. Mike Nifong.

It's annoying, I agree, but not uncommon. "One size fits all" has never been a motto in American jurisprudence.

Nifong is so dangerous because he's been in that office for over 20 years. He knows where the bodies are buried and the skeletons in everyone's closet.

Despite how he is portrayed as a buffoon, he knows Durham - knows the Juries, and he knows all the little tricks. He knows how to get the right Judges, he knows how to manipulate them in and out of court. There is no dirty trick or loophole that Nifong won't employ.

He happens to be in a jurisdiction where the DA has extraordinary power and he alone sets and controls the Criminal Docket.

He knows all the right people and operates without fear of accountablity. In fact, he is practically immune to civil or criminal liability in his position.

If anyone in a postion of authority in NC has any sense of freedom or Justice - there will be changes to the NC law in the wake of Nifong's politial persecution of the boys.
To say reform is needed, is like saying you need a jacket if you live in Siberia.

News is leaking from the Internal Affairs investigation in Durham, the word is that it was a simple case of mis-identity. The actual suspects are named Matt, Bret, and Adam and Police are on the look out for the suspects as we speak.

I can't help but wonder.

I can show you the articles with the overflowing media outrage towards Colin Finnerty and Ryan McFadyen (e-mail parody), yet go looking for some MSM outrage against Andrea Yates.

What does this say about our society? We are furious and outraged and resent the living standards by which these men were raised? We resent that someone worked hard, earned, and saved - and their children benefit.

However, there was total silence about the treatment of Crystal's kids. How Jarriel Johnson said they would let him in - and he would see no other adults. How 5 minutes after one man left that house, another man - Jarriel would show up and Mommy would be gone from 2:00 pm to 9:00 am the next morning for night after night?

Andrea Yates didn't send a private e-mail when she was 19 and she didn't tussle in Georgetown at 19 - but she systematically killed her FIVE children!

Everyone knows, in time, Yates will be out. Media Talking Heads like Kimberly Guilfoyle lobbied for Yates to be found Not-guilty.

Really I think this speaks volumes.
