Hanging out in a Raleigh sports bar...why couldn't they just go to one of their own nightclubs? Oh, I forgot -- they are being closely scrutinized all of a sudden.
Interesting headline, the Durham Police are investigating an incident that occurred in Raleigh. What are the Raleigh Police doing?

The DPD are probably ostensibly doing an internal affairs investigation of their own, but Raleigh PD has a duty to the victim to conduct their own investigation.

Yes, I just found the headline misleading. The other news sources say that Raleigh PD is investigating the incident. I guess Chalmers decided he had better issue a press release saying they are looking into it. I wonder why the DPD guys didn't identify themselves as off-duty officers?

Thomas said he shouted mockingly at the driver's raucous display. A passenger in the truck, whom he described as white, yelled a racial slur at him, Thomas said. Thomas, who is black, returned with a different racial epithet. As I said there is a special status given to crimes like this. I wonder if Gottlieb will get the same treatment every other white man would if he did this.
