Prayer Vigil for the Immigration Issue

Prayer Vigil For the Immigration Crisis

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way. 1 Timothy 2: 1-2, RSV

Dear FRiends, I invite you to join us in a 24 hour a day prayer vigil to ask God's help and protection and guidance on the immigration issue before Congress.

Let us place our country's needs before our Father's throne of grace that the right actions will be taken to protect our country and keep it safe.

We are asking for people to be willing to pray for at least 1/2 hours blocks. I will organize this on a 7 day schedule, to continue to rotate until the crisis is resolved. If you can, please consider pledging at the same time each day, but if you can't let me know your schedule. It will go on until this issue is settled.

If you want to pledge, let me know your time choices, and let me know your time zone!

Unto You, O Lord, we return with praise and thanksgiving for these times drawn apart in prayer for our beloved country. Sprinkle the hearts of our leaders with wisdom and discernment ... temper them with love and compassion for our citizens ... cause them to extend to others the promise of fellowship through means both legal and moral, that we might retain the fabric of America ... one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, may it be thus, O Lord, may it be thus, Amen ...

This morning, Lord, we come before you to thank you for the blessings you have given our nation.

We ask also that you hold our leaders in the palm of your hand and lead them with your wisdom.

We specially ask your hand of protection on Mr. Bush as he travels to Iraq and home, and bless the work he is trying to do.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Amen to your prayer for the safety of our president. He is a hero for doing this for the troops. God bless and keep him. God protect those brave ones who sacrifice everything for us.

This morning, my puter is in disk maintenance mode (and has been for about 3 1/2 hours) and I can't get to my pinglist. I'm on hubby's computer. It may be a couple more hours before I can get back on mine. I sort of went through old messages, trying to get people's names. If I pinged you and you didn't want the ping, I apologize. And if I missed you, it wasn't intentional!

But anyway.

O Lord,
we thank you for the ways you have helped and aided our president, leaders in congress and our nation. Lord, if it is your will, may those in our country who will not listen to your voice be shown to others for what they are, and have their eyes opened to the darkness of their ways.

May every opening for your light to spill into people's hearts bear fruit.

Please, Lord, help those of us fighting for the way of righteousness you have taught us to act as you would have us act, with your love and wisdom guiding each step of our way.

Help keep our nation and people safe, so that we can be the light set on the hill that you would have us to be.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

This article was in my local newspaper. I tried to find a link, but couldn't, so I'll just type it out. It proves that the illegal problem CAN be solved:

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

SAN LUIS RIO COLORADO, MEXICO:The arrival of U.S National Guard troops in Arizona has scared off illegal Mexican migrants along the border, significantly reducing crossings, according to U.S. and mexican officials.

U.S. authorities said Monday that detentions along the U.S.-Mexico border decreased by 21% in the first 10 days of June compared to the same period last year.

Detentions dropped 23% along the Arizona border, and 31% along the Texas and New Mexico border.

The 55 Utah soldiers who arrived June 3 are the first of some 6000 to be dispatched along the border.

[Think how well it will work when there are more troops!!]

Keep the prayers going that this keeps trending.

Standing in Agreement with your Prayer, Dear Knitting.

Thank You, Great King of Heaven, for the Uncountable Blessings You have Showered Upon us. We Praise Your Name for the Godly men You have Granted us, and Pray that many more will be Elected to Office. Send Repentance to those who Hate Thee, for the Sake of Thy Mercy Toward Fallen man.

Help our Leaders to Stand for Thy Ways, while being Compassionate Towards Every Immigrant. Our Hearts Love them All, and Desire Thy Salvation to be Proclaimed by Every One.

Safe-Guard our America, Dear Father, as we Exalt You in our Jesus' Name, amen.

May the angels bless you,

as they look down from above,
and guide you down the pathways
as they share with you their love.

May the angels bless you
and be there to ease your pain,
holding you within their arms
when you can't tolerate more strain.

May the angels bless you
when the night time seems too long,
and help you to see the joy in life
as you yourself grow strong.

May the angels bless you
with the kind words they impart,
touching deep within your soul
the beauty that lives inside each heart.

Deus vobiscum

Unto thee, O Lord, we return with praise and thanksgiving, for ever is Your mercy upon those who fear Your Mighty Name.

We look to You, Merciful Father, for safe passage through these troubled waters ... guide us safely to harbor. Let us neither be overwhelmed with the storms that approach, nor let us be discouraged in the face of rising waters ... we seek Your assurance to calm the raging sea.

Grant the greatest wisdom to those in authority over us, that they would do what is right and seemly in Your sight. Guide their hands and their hearts in the fashioning of laws that protect each citizen ... let them not be swayed by anything other than what is proper and just, righteous and good. Let all things be done decently and in order, that liberty and justice would prevail.

Hear our prayer, O Lord ...
Hear our prayer, O Lord ...
Incline thine ear to us
And grant us thy peace. Amen ...
