Unto thee, O Lord, we return with praise and thanksgiving, for ever is Your mercy upon those who fear Your Mighty Name.

We look to You, Merciful Father, for safe passage through these troubled waters ... guide us safely to harbor. Let us neither be overwhelmed with the storms that approach, nor let us be discouraged in the face of rising waters ... we seek Your assurance to calm the raging sea.

Grant the greatest wisdom to those in authority over us, that they would do what is right and seemly in Your sight. Guide their hands and their hearts in the fashioning of laws that protect each citizen ... let them not be swayed by anything other than what is proper and just, righteous and good. Let all things be done decently and in order, that liberty and justice would prevail.
