This weekend in America is Memorial Weekend a time when Americans honour their military dead.

Well, I get most of my news from FR. That, and I like to put my own analysis on things. I honestly had no idea how accurate that may have been.

Got attacked by a troll the other night, accusing me of being pro-war and pro-military while not actually being there and having to serve. Apparently I'm a coward AND a hypocrite.

If I were there, I would probably have that problem, too. I've slept through many scary, loud thunderstorms, having no idea they had happened when I awoke.

Hmmmm...come to think of it, I'm not sure. There are some dumb blond men out there. Not sure how their driving skills measure up.

I'm (dark) blond, but I consider myself a pretty good driver.

On the other hand...who admits that they're bad drivers?

Uh...and that troll is here? Yeah, I didn't think so. Another "Keyboard Weinie." You know those tough-talking types are probably such wimps IRL.

There are quite a few DU-ish trolls on here that just get downright nasty if you dare to report any positive news out of Iraq. I figure those are just miserable people (aren't all liberals?) who cannot stand to hear anything good and won't have their precious CNN refuted.

This one managed to stay on for about a half hour. It was brutal (he was a real butthole).

He kept posting pictures of dead children lying in the street and claiming they were "Iraqi victims of America's brutality." I responded by posting pictures of dead terrorists. And then he accused me of "masturbating to war pornography."

Good grief...I can tell just by the responses that Eds Funky Diner was a real peice of work. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I had to have a cowardly poster's comments removed yesterday because she was saying things about me to another troll and didn't even have the courage to include me in the post. Another FReeper alerted me to it. It was full of nasty conjecture and she was even making stuff up about where I am and her own experiences in the Middle East.

I don't even know this person. I guess they feel like I'm competing with them or something, when I'm really not even giving them a secnd thought.

I just don't understand people sometimes. I wish it didn't happen on FR, but there's going to be kooks in any big group you visit.

Plus, she'd lose that competition, 'cause you're the coolest gal in the whole Middle East.

I have gone through the thread & checked out Ilovew & rzeznikj at stout posts. I see nothing wrong with them. Okay, maybe I am a weeee bit jealous that I am in the hot tub ALONE & they get to be together!!

But seriously, This is NOT advertised as a nanny safe thread /family thread. It is a single’s thread. It is NOT to be an X rated Playboy thread but is geared for adults. We must and should follow the overall FR guidelines..

I had one suggestion that we request to be in the Smoky Back-room . I don’t know a whole lot about how decisions are made about where to place various thread (regular ones).

What are your feelings everyone? Should we remain in "general chat"(not sure we even have a choice), Can’t we have playful flirting? I know what is okay for some is very offensive to some. We each might draw the line differently. I am looking for input from the regular posters here who are the core of the developing & relatively new Weekend Singles Thread.

We want to stay credible with FreeRepublic. I don't know about any of you but I don't want to think that NON Participants can come & hit abuse to the Mods.. I think we ALL understand the mentality behind this. There are a lot of ways to be a disruptive force on/at a thread.
