The Official Weekend Single's Thread ---May 26 -29 (Memorial Weekend US - Spring Bank Holiday Weekend UK)

This weekend in America is Memorial Weekend a time when Americans honour their military dead.
He's been home for almost two years now, but he remembers it well. There's a small chance he could get called up again.
Phil the Phriendly Phampire.
That's me. I first learned the joy of staying up late in the 9th grade...and I never looked back.
Please thank your hubby for me and wish him a nice and relaxing Memorial Day. :-)
I learned to be a night owl from my mom. Can't remember ever going to bed early (on a regular basis), come to think of it...
Thanks, Allegra! Hubby says you're welcome and thanks for doing what you're doing in Iraq. (Contracting out there is not easy!)
I've always been a night owl, too. It's when I get my best energy.
Now that I'm working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, I fall asleep before midnight out of pure exhaustion.
When I'm home and get those things called "weekends," I always manage to throw my body-closck out of whack real good on those Friday and Saturday nights.
Before age 14, I went to bed at 10 pm Weeknights and 11 pm on the weekend. It was a strict rule enforcement grounded into my brain by my parents.
Then I discovered Cartoon Network. It started with Friday nights...and I began my journey down the dark path.
It's so peaceful and quiet at night...everyone's asleep, and you can focus on things more.
LOL - I'm glad somebody recognizes that. You would not believe some of the derisive, ignorant comments I've gotten about that here on FR.
I just write those people off as idiots. ;-)
Pat can go to sleep on-demand. He can stay awake when he needs to be awake, and go to sleep when he wants. Anytime, day or night. It's amazing. I can't tell if he's a true night-owl or an early bird. He's like a hybrid.
That almost doesn't surprise me. I got beaten up by some because I was a 'reservist' wife, as opposed to an 'active duty' wife. Some freepers can be really horrible.
That is truly amazing. I'm the antithesis to that...
I lay awake for about 10-15 minutes before falling asleep. I am about as non-wake-up-able as a human being can possibly get.
Allegra says that I am well-informed on the Iraq situation, too. 'Cuz I'm special.
Special, like the Special Olympics?
Har.
Just kidding.
You are The Omnipotent Phil.
No, I don't get my own parking spaces.
Yes, they can. Fortunately, they're in the minority. Bitter, unhappy little people. And they say things like that to you from the comfort of their homes, behind their keyboards. While your husband is off in a dangerous place protecting their right to do that. Aren't they lovely?
Yes, you certainly are! :-)
Same here. I can't tell you how many mortar and rocket attacks I've slept through. Co-workers would say in the morning "But they were loud and shook the he!! out of everything! How did you not hear that?"
Once I'm asleep, I don't hear anything.
Probably not a good trait to have. ;-)
