Hi ilovew.
So what did I miss?
To: Maximus_Ridiculousness
Hmph. A lot. But I have no idea what we did wrong so the only one that can possibly explain it is the mod.

Unfortunately, no. I heard two chunky sounds that sounded like mortars just as I was going to bed last night. They probably missed their mark (they miss more often than not) because I haven't heard anything more about that.
I also heard that a bus was ambushed and bombed in Baqouba.
I'm sure this will make the MSM happy.
It sure was nice to have the radio (squawkbox) quiet for several days. It's not ramped up at this point and maybe it won't. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Hi y'all!
Lots of people buring the midnight oil back home. You can tell it's a holiday weekend. ;-)
(Not for us...we're working. LOL)

LOL! I remember one time I was back in the rear. Heard the first two rounds and got distance and movement.
While the REMF's headed to the bunkers, I just rolled over. One guy got a purple heart for stubbing his toe.
What can I say???

Hey Allegra! Are you up near "Mortaritaville"? LOL - that's up in Balad. About 60 miles north of here.
I'm in central "Gag-dad."

For stubbing his toe? Dang! Cool trophy for doing that.
I wonder if I can get some kind of civilian medal for the time I scraped a knuckle while diving under a desk when a mortar came in real close in early '04? I called it my "war wound." HAHA

Hubby was up in Balad for a while, and in and around BIAP. He also spent time in Talil.

Hubby was up in Balad for a while, and in and around BIAP. He also spent time in Talil. Is he home now? That base at Balad is HUGE. I was there briefly in the fall of '04. They had incoming every day - several times a day. We used to call it "Camp Incoming."
