Sometimes in life you find things you don't want to part with... :~D
Then you have other people throw them out for you.
Except my books. No one touches my books. They're going to be problematic in the future, I can see this. I mean, I've got 12 boxes of books now... imagine when I have added another couple decades to the collecting! Plus eventually I'll have to build a kid's library too.
I'm so thrilled that y'all had a good time!
Everyone's got ~something~ :~D
*giggles insanely*
I'd better go to bed now...
Prayers up for Jr!
The nest out in Western MA has two chicks. It doesn't have streaming video, but you can click on the pictures taken during the day to see the progression all day. They are SO cute!
Yeah, well I WAS gone all weekend! Gotta lot to catch up on! I'll have to finish in the morning, though. I can't believe I stayed up THIS late. But I did have some coffee when we had SirKit's birthday cake. His big day was yesterday, but we were gone. ;o( Made up for it by making his favorite Shrimp Orleans and the kids made a chocolate cake. We just finished watching Legend of Zorro; it was a fun movie.
Nite all!
Suggestion to Jr.: pick an easily translatable MOS (like light wheel vehicle mechanic or personnel clerk) and sign up for the GI Bill (my biggest mistake).
Even if your heart belongs to the Infantry, get the GI Bill. You won't need the money...until you need the money.
Good Morning Rose and Bear; excellent chronicle of 'The Move'. That was and continues to be quite an 'an adventure'.
Off to 'America's Dairyland' this a.m. The crew is driving, road trip time. SYL
See? My load of books wasn't that bad...I don't think...
Heh. Amateur! ;o)
If we don't get cracking, we'll still be here in October!! I'll be Freeping a lot less in the next month or two, I'm sure. We have to get stuff out of here so we can start painting and freshening up. Paul graduates Law School next week, and he's planning to come home right after that to look for a place for himself. He'll be able to help SirKit do a lot of the heavier work, which will be nice, so I can concentrate on packing. Clare has her final in English class today, so she'll be concentrating on finishing up her work in the month of May so she can visit with her friend who's coming over from Japan in a couple of weeks. It will be a HUGH relief when she's all done, and the diploma is in the works.
Good luck to you Jen, and you Bear, and Rose. I don't have a hand held, but SirKit made up an Excel file so we can keep track of what's in each box so we won't have to search for stuff later. We may have to put things in storage in the time between leaving here and getting into another house, so knowing where stuff is will be helpful. He set up a system in which each of us has a set of numbers, according to birth order and boxes of things that belong to us is numbered in that sequence. SirKit's are the 100's, I'm the 200's and so on. The household stuff is in the 7 and 800's, and the tools and other outdoor stuff is the 900's. We can have 100 boxes in each category, but we might end up using some of the kids' numbers if we run out of numbers in the other groups.
Actually I'm okay with Monday and rain, it's this infernal meeting to talk about a meeting that I have to go to...
Morning :~D
~sip~
Sunny here.
Been raining here since yesterday. We can use it.
I'm sorry I don't have a picture, but I moved the ferns on our porch out to let 'em get rained on. I hope I didn't ruin things, cause I found a nest with eggs in it when I put them back up. I didn't touch the nest, but I ~did~ move the plant.
So we'll see.
Interesting... Hard to say if the parents will cope with the move. Any idea what kind of bird? Have you seen birds coming and going from there?
Nana saw them and they actually flew out one night when I walked out the front door.
So I should have figured I shouldn't move them. They're small birds, maybe like chickadees or wrens or something.
It's back in the same spot. So we'll watch.
