Oh, man it was GREAT!!! I can't say anything more than that right now because I'm supposed to be working on the BA CHEF newsletter...I just finished it. I've got pictures...I'll post them tomorrow as soon as I can!
Tomorrow evening is Steve's actual "get your name called, walk across the stage" graduation.
It appears to have worked...when I got back, he was still working ati it.
I'm afraid he's not very bright in a lot of ways...
Got a few things at Value Village, including my very own 'spresso maker. It was missing the carafe, so I stopped at the grocery and got a pouring type measuring cup, which works OK. It ain't pretty as a whole, but I just washed it and made a few shots (decaf, which I realize is heresy...), and it came out very tasty. I could get used to this...
Speaking of Value Village, though, and having read the Dave Barry article that was posted here earlier today...another kind of jerks that annoy me are the ones that will take possession of the very few dressing rooms in a store, and leave their stuff in there. Then, if someone else dares to use the open stall while they go off in search of more stuff to try on, they give them dirty looks, even if there are *lines* to get in. I just ignored 'em, but really...that's just awfully self-centered.
Yay 2J! I bet you're still in shock!
Also got a bathroom scale. You know...it should be illegal for them to put amounts like "126.5 lb." on the display model scale on the box...
That's just wrong.
Looking forward to pictures! Of tomorrow night, too!
Can't wait to see your pictures :~D
You should have bought all her stuff.
Heh...mostly I just moved it to one side of the room so I could try stuff on.
Sheesh.
Evenin'
Officially plum tuckered out here. Got Luke to church at 7:45 for the kid's musical production (they just do a portion of the Sunday service). But they did it twice. Then we went out to farm for a picnic...in the rain.
Came home and I took a short nap afore swim clinic. Then we stopped at the grocery store on the way home. I will not be awake long.
Whilst he wasn't cast in the part, Luke became a star of sorts for theshow. Let's just say that standing still is not one of his finer qualities. Fortunately the younger kids weren't on stage the whole time. Parents and family joined the kids for the last song. His choir director came to me before first service and said "you're going to hold him...."
~sigh~
In other news, appreciate prayers for direction for Jr. He's meetin' with an Army recruiter tomorrow. Good thing is he's thinkin' about the future and what his real options are. And, even with all the issues over the years, we know when he finds is place, he'll do fine. It's just painful getting there...for us that is.
Evening... I just mostly goofed off on the computer today. :~D
Well, I only have ~six more years~ of these kids' musicals...then ~six more years~ of youth choir after that.
I said to friends this morning (there with their daughter), "Do you ever fantasize about going to a normal church where they don't do this stuff?"
Well, you could always decide that Luke is tone deaf and you needn't bother.
I was mainly a slug today...did get up off thecouch long enough to grill a steak.
Mmmmm.... steak.
Guess I should do some laundry now....
If you ~have~ to.
Ha! I did my laundry already.
Of course I need to fold it now...
I'm doing laundry, too. And grilling hamburgers...which aren't as good as steak, but are still pretty tasty. Also cooking some asparagus. Should be enough to have leftovers for lunches. We have a microwave at work now.
Like that would make a difference. When was the last time you heard a children's choir?
