You're right she does have a pig face.
"It seemed kind of voodoo with all that blackness."
Well, they certainly occulted their own fans, as well as the president. Who knows, maybe this is intended to be autobiographical, in an odd, narcissistic sort of way.
Yup! But ya'll have to use number 9 shot.
You've about got that right. From the St. Petersburg Times:
Maines later said she regretted the phrasing of her remark but remained passionately against the war. In January she told Entertainment Weekly magazine that she was disappointed with country music and that she's "pretty much done" with the genre
Toby, look. New material. Write us a song.
I seem to remember that name...aren't they one of those passing bands that came and gone a few years ago? Yea, that the ticket.
Pretty sure I saw it there too, although the remote was getting a workout.
But then again perhaps it is more like adopting the 'Rush Mantra,' "the more they speak the better off we know who they are. Keep talking."
From Entertainment Weekly:
Let's say the album comes out and everyone who was outraged about your comments embraces it with open arms. Are you gonna go back to Nashville and say, ''Hey, we're back!'' Or has this completely altered the course you guys were on?
"For me as a person, [The Incident has] completely altered the course I was on. For me to be in country music to begin with was not who I was. I liked Martie and Emily's playing, but I did not grow up liking country music. And I guess I was ignorant to the fact that the stereotypes behind country music were true and it was disappointing. And so at this stage, I can never... I would be cheating myself and not setting a good example for my children to go back to something that I don't wholeheartedly believe in. So I'm pretty much done. They've shown their true colors. I like lots of country music, but as far as the industry and everything that happened... I couldn't want to be farther away from that. And it's easier when you're financially set, because you can be a little more ballsy, and just do what you want to do. I don't want people to think that me not wanting to be a part of country music is any sort of revenge. It is not. It is totally me being who I am, and not wanting to compromise myself and hate my life. All of my anger... I've pretty much gotten past that. Writing the album was therapy."

That's because they were supposedly crossing over from the top of one of the best selling genres of music to Rock and Roll. Why would country stations carry that?
Yeah, and she looks like Petunia Pig - figures she's the one who does the most bashing or has in the past.
They'll never cut it in rock & roll. They're toast. Hope so anyway.
The Burqua... um....
Alright. I'll bite.
What?
Aren't they an old faux-country group, with a singer who looks like a really bloated Courtney Love?
Now I really like that - totally faux - but it didn't have to be that way. I knew them way before the fat one, and they were awesome. Hard to understand what went on in their heads. Though it seems somewhat obvious = musicians under a cetain age think what they are supposed to do once they get "famous" is get onstage and insult people. So they've been acting like rock stars all this time - they went out there in London and said something SO STUPID - and they don't even understand what they did. Their little snotty thing - not ready to make nice - and they're asking others to forget and move on - but if they were ready to move on they wouldnt say something like that. They still think that when you get "famous" you're supposed to act like jerks. Grow up!!!!
I'm thinking it's "In Before The Inevitable Natalie ..." something or other. No idea what TOTT might stand for.
Why would country stations carry that?
Because for a very long time, country stations have been filled with self-loathing, and they will carry ANYTHING that is anti-country.
I've noticed a change, too, and I'm not a diehard country fan, just an occasional listener. Alan Jackson has a few lyrics that are outright socialist.
Actually, the Dixie Chicks were a really good cowgirl quartet that used to play fine background music for my lasagna and chocolate souffles at Joey Tomato's restaurant here in Dallas. Songs like "Cow Cow Boogie" and "Thank Heavens for Dale Evans." Then they fired the woman who started the group and replaced her with some pudgy loudmouthed chick with a huge chip on her shoulder and an ego as big as Texas. Musically, they've been going downhill ever since.
BTW, I logged onto their website and watched the video for this new song. What a self-righteous, self-indulgent piece of cr*p.
