One is a felony and serious criminal offense designed to benefit no one but herself. Addiction is a moral failing, a crime (in the legal sense), and an illness. But in the end, we all suffer from such failings. There is a world of difference between prescription and narcotics addiction. The latter requires full knowledge of breaking the law, is intentional, and has a greater net harm on the health of the nation and its people. While we are not too fond of addicts, most of us hope that they will find the path to a clean living, esp with God's grace.

The burden of proof is on the prosecutor, not the accused. Prove it.
