Things You Have to Believe to be a democrat Today
1. Belief in God will destroy the country.
2. Morals are a bad thing.
3. Hard working Americans should give their money to lazy Americans.
4. Men who molest boys are heterosexual.
5. You can reason with people who want to kill you.
6. African Americans can not achieve without help.
7. The U.N. and world court should have authority over the U.S.
8. We don't really need a military.
9. We don't need oil.
10. Animals have more rights then people do.
11. It's none of the parents business if their thirteen year old daughter get an abortion.
12. Trees can't be replaced.
13. Forest fires are better than someone making a living cutting down trees for lumber.
14. It's not fair that some people get better health care than others, so everyone should get poor health care and hard working Americans should pay for it so lazy Americans don't have to.
15. Successful people cheat and steal.

Trade with Cuba is wrong - don't be naive, proximity has A LOT to do with this one. Remember nukes 90 miles from US soil?
The United States should get out of the United Nation... - The UN is VERY afraid of the Hyperpower the US has become. They'll resist at every turn purely on principal.

Just to balance out the Things you have to Believe to be a Republican Today posting that generated so many comments.
- Drug addiction is a disease that should be treated with compassion and understanding...unless the addict is a Conservative talk show host.
- The United States should be subservient to the United Nations. Our highest authority is not God and the U.S. Constitution, but a collective of tinpot dictators (and their appeasers) and the U.N. charter.
- Government should relax drug laws regardless of the potential for abuse, but should pass new and unConstitutional anti-gun laws because of the potential for abuse.
- Calls for increased security after a terrorist attack are "political opportunism," but calls for more gun control after a criminal's spree killing is "a logical solution."
- "It Takes a Village" means everything you want it to mean...except creeping socialist government involvement in the nuclear family.
- Disarming innocent, law-abiding citizens helps protect them from evil, lawless terrorists and other thugs.
- Slowly killing an unborn innocent by tearing it apart limb from limb is good. Slowly killing an innocent disabled woman by starving her to death is good. Quickly killing terrorists, convicted murderers and rapists is BAD.
- Every religion should be respected and promoted in public schools the name of diversity, so long as that religion isn't Christianity.
- The best way to support our troops is to criticize their every move. This will let them know they're thought of often.
- Sexual harassment, groping and drug use are degenerate if you're the governor of California, but it's okay if you're the President of the United States.
- Sex education should be required so that teens can make informed choices about sex, but gun education should be banned because it will turn those same teens into maniacal mass-murderers.
- Minorities are blameless for the hatred of the racist; women are blameless for the hatred of the rapist; but America is entirely at fault for the hatred of Islamofascists.
- Poverty is the cause of all terrorism...which is why the leaders of al Qaeda are typically U.S.-educated and were raised in wealth and luxury.
- The Patriot Act is a horrific compromise of Constitutional rights, but anti-Second Amendment laws and Franklin Roosevelt's Presidential Order 9066 must be regarded "reasonable precautions."
- We should unquestioningly honor the wishes of our age-old allies, even when said allies no longer act like our allies and have vested economic interests in propping up our enemies.
- Socialized medicine is the ideal. Nevermind all those people who spend every dime they have to get to the United States so they can get quality medical care...that their nation's socialized medical community can't provide.
- Michael Moore, Noam Chomsky and Natalie Maines are perfectly qualified to criticize our leadership, but Arnold Schwarzenegger, Charlton Heston, and Dennis Miller are just ignorant political hacks.
- John Lott's research on how gun ownership reduces crime is junk science, but Michael Bellesiles is still an authority on why gun control is good (even though he was forced to resign from Emory due to research misconduct over his book "Arming America").
- Bush's toppling the Saddam regime was a "diversion," but Clinton's lobbing a couple of cruise missiles at Iraq in the thick of the Lewinsky sex scandal was "sending a message."
- A president who lies under oath is okay, but a president who references sixteen words from an allies' intelligence report should be dragged through the streets naked.
- Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning Second Amendment rights and shopping the courts for judges sympathetic to causes that wouldn't pass in any legislature.
- "The People" in the First Amendment means The People; "the People" in the Fourth Amendment means The People; "the People" in the Ninth Amendment means The People; "the People" in the Tenth Amendment means The People; but "the People" in the Second Amendment (ratified in 1791) means the National Guard (created by an Act of Congress in 1903).
- You support a woman's "right to choose" to kill her unborn child, but don't believe that same woman is competent enough to homeschool the children she bears.
- Proven draft-dodging is irrelevant, but baseless claims of AWOL status is crucial to national security.
- Threatening to boycott Dr. Laura's and Rush Limbaugh's advertisers is exercising Freedom of Speech, but threatening to boycott CBS's "The Reagans" and Liberal actors over their asinine anti-American remarks is censorship and McCarthyist blacklisting.

Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is Communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.
Let's set the record straight, JFK imposed Trade on Cuba, Nixon lifted them on China, and Bush the elder did so on Viet Nam.
The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq.
If we got out of the UN we wouldn't have to enforce the resolutions they won't enforce without our help, you know like the dire consequences for Iraq for failing to abide by UN resolutions.
A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation.
Multi-national corporations don't go into a woman's womb and kill their unborn children, at least not yet but the democrats are working on it.
The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches, while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.
No one is stopping democrats from raising benefits and pay for our veterans, they can do so when ever they want to.
If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.
And the hallways will be a lot easier to clean and wax.
A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies, then demand their cooperation and money.
It has always worked well enough for them with us.
Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy, but providing health care to all Americans is socialism.
Wait until the Iraqis get the bill, think they are angry now, when they find out they are the test bed for Hillary care they will spontaneously combust.
HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart.
Live patients can still pay their bills, the government will take your money even after you are dead. That's why Government healthcare is neither healthy or caring.
Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools.
Global warming is Gaia's PMS, (honestly Gaia is the name of the earth's spirit, and some scientists believe that Gaia will use Global warming to rid the earth of human pollution) and the Native Americans taught the Europeans settlers that smoking would help them to speak to The Gods of the Earth.
A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense, but a president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.
There is a difference between lying about sex and being wrong based upon the lies of your enemies, sadly most liberals can't grasp either of these concepts.
Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet.
And if Democrats had been able to stop Abe Lincoln and The Republicans in the 1860's slavery would still be legal as well.
The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George Bush's driving record is none of our business.
George Bush never killed a cow, Hillary's cattle trades did.
Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.
Conservative pray for liberals as well, especially since we believe that all liberals are sick, stoned or crazy to begin with.
What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the '80s is irrelevant.
If more people had listen to what Clinton did in the 1960's, he never would have been Governor.
Support for hunters who shoot their friends and blame them for wearing orange vests similar to those worn by the quail is expected.
Hollywood celebrities paid P.E.T.A. Billions for those orange vests made especially for quails, I blame Hollywood and P.E.T.A.

If you still need a rebuttal, I'll do my best. It should at least make your friiend think but no promises though.
"Things you have to believe to vote Republican today:"
This should be good.
"1. Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy
made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him and a bad guy
when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion."
Pres. Reagan never armed Saddam. What we did was give satellite surveillance pictures to him. Besides, if the Mullahnuts win and the ME becomes a giant JIHADLAND, the libs will fume at Reagan for "ignoring terrorism" instead of "helping Saddam".
Halliburton and the VP had NO connections/operations/ and projetcs in Iraq whatsoever. None.
I guess the Pres. war to prosecute Saddam for ignoring international law that resulted in 50 million freed Iraqis is a "diversion" while Desert Sham and the premature annihilation strikes of the Toons which resulted in absolutely nothing whatsoever were "real wars". I'd rather have more "diversions" than "real wars".
"2. Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is communist, but trade with
China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony."
Cuba is an unapologetic communist hellhole making no pretense of reform, democratising, and diplomacy. China and Vietnam are willing to at least have a facade of such and is thus more acceptable in the yese of the world. Needless to say, in the event of war with either we will not be bending over like Peanut man or the XXX.
"3. The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest
national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq."
The leftists of all people should know about using people to make a case. They don't give two bits about minorities, women, tolerance or anything else.If it would get them to power, they'd support Nazi germany, Apartheid South Africa and the bourgeuouis [sp] United States. As long as the UN has a shred of currency and credibility, we will use it to bolster our case and cause. Just because something is bad doesn't mean everthing about it should be discarded. This quote is pretty good despite coming form Hitler:
"Such luck for leaders that people don't think."
"4. A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but
multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without
regulation, especially so if they are paying women less than men."
It's more than her body. In case they forget, ha, there is still a viable being inside of her. MAkes just as much as saying "a man can't be trusted with his own wife" and relating it to domestic abuse. I have yet to see mega-corps commit genocide and bring servitude the way states have, so hell yeah I trust uberbusinesses with "decisions affecting mankind". Dystopian fantasies of Corporations running the world are just that, fantasies.
"5. Jesus is GOD (and all that implies, like omnipotent, omnscient, and He Created Everything!
He loves *You*...and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary."
Hatred is unChristian. Period. But because we are fallen, we succumb. In any case, we hate the Hildeb!tch because she is an affront to everything this country and the Lord that rules over all stands for. Homosexuals otoh we don't hate. If we do hate certain homosexuals it is because they molest children, try to sexualize and degrade our culture, are Communist enemies of the Constitution, or all of the above.
"6. The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in flowery
speeches while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay."
Pure bull. We did no such thing.
"7. If condoms AND LIBERAL SEX ED are kept out of schools, adolescents won't BE INCLINED/ENCOURAGED TO have sex."
Corrected.
"8. A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies, then
demand their cooperation and money."
Who spearheaded the Ports lunacy? Enough said.
"9. Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy. Providing health
care to all Americans is socialism."
Thgere is no such program in Iraq. Next. (Man this is sweet! My responses are getting shorter :)
"10. HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at
heart."
They are businesses first and foremost. While many within the system are good working people, we harbor no such delusions. Also, I have yet to see insurance and HMOs screw over as many people as "free universal" healthcare does in Canada and other Europeon nations. Next.
"11. Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but
creationism should be taught in schools."
Creationism does not purport to be a science but a school of thought. Essentially it is saying "God created all."
Ohh. How dreadful and unstable. Look out I might whip out a cross and start beating hippies to death.
On contrast, pseudo studies have been used to push forward totalitarian and anti-freedom measures in regards to business and tobacco. Saying "God makes all" 50 times does not register as much damage as a single Truth ad if the net result is that Americans lose just a bit more of their freedoms.
Lastly, we are willing to admit Creationism is an opinion guided by belief, agenda pushers lie that their fake statistics and degenerative policies are gospel and should be taken as such or the children will suffer.
Creationists: We want to present another idea in the arena of ideas.
Global Warming/Anti-Tobacco Extremists: Support my policies or you hate children. I don't care if the method is questionable and research is flawed. Do you hate children or not?
Now, who would you rather listen to?
"12. A president lying about an extramarital affair is a impeachable offense.
A president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is
solid defense policy."
The Saddam documents are there. Start reading and don't stop. Next.
"13. Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution,
which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet."
Homosexual marraige - Constitutional Ammendment, therefore "powers named in UCon"
Internet- Most conservatives oppose such things including the PResident. ("Change the channel.") NExt.
"14. The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George
Bush's driving record is none of our business."
One is a felony and serious criminal offense designed to benefit no one but herself. The other is a misdemeanor mitigated by the fact that he was trying to drive slowly so as not to endanger other people. Of course, DUI is still a crime but at least he had concern for others sharing the road. Not like an unnamed Senator from MA. Next.
"15. Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a
conservative radio host. Then it's an illness, and you need our prayers for
your recovery."
Addiction is a moral failing, a crime (in the legal sense), and an illness. But in the end, we all suffer from such failings. There is a world of difference between prescription and narcotics addiction. The latter requires full knowledge of breaking the law, is intentional, and has a greater net harm on the health of the nation and its people. While we are not too fond of addicts, most of us hope that they will find the path to a clean living, esp with God's grace.
"16. You support states' rights, which means Attorney General John Ashcroft
can tell states what local voter initiatives they have the right to adopt."
The burden of proof is on the prosecutor, not the accused. Prove it.
"17. What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest, but
what Bush did in the '80s is irrelevant."
When a President went to an enemy nation and engaged in riots and clashes with the police and may have even raped a student, I think it is pretty d@mn vital to national security.
"Feel free to pass this on. If you don't send it to at least 10 other people,
we're likely to be stuck with Bush for 4 more years."
A little late, dearie. :)
"Friends don't let friends vote Republican."
Republicanism has been tried for 200 years. Contemporary Democratism came in vogue in the 1960s. Look at conditions then and now.
Who shouldn't be voting who again? :)
Hope this helps. Good luck, FReeper. :)

(Pres. Bush isn't Pres. Reagan. Then again, Pres. Regan isn't Pres. Washington. God bless them all.)

I got the exact same email message from a good old friend back in Chicago. He happens to be Jewish.
I simply ignored his message and emailed him back a copy of Mark Steyn as quoted in the Jerusalem Post.
