Nickel Creek They're from San Diego!
Saw them at a small, intimate concert in a little theater a few years back, first come, first serve seating.
We got the first row, real worms-eye view. It was GREAT!
The one who plays the mandolin has worked with Dolly Parton - he's a genius.
I like their first album best. Now I'll be hearing that mandolin all night. Thanks! ":^)

You're thinking of the right guy. Anti-american is an understatement when it comes to Steve Earle.
I'm thinking Taylor would do well to choose anything by Lyle Lovett.

right now I am previewing stuff from Jason & the Scorchers on iTunes, I will listen to the 2 you both mentioned next.
Alt/Country is mild enough, but rock and roll enough

I LOVE George Strait. I hope noone sings that...:)

Very intersting about McPhee possibly being a Scientologist. If she really is, and that gets out to the general public, her votes next week will be way down.

I made that comment last week too. He is so talented.
I can see him singing any of Tony's hits.
But for country week, what do you think he will sing?

I don't know what I was thinking...
picking from a list like this would be best...
Top 500 Country Music Songs
Here is our list of the Top 500 Country Music songs of all time, as compiled from various sources (see disclaimer below). Included, when possible, are guitar tabs/chords and/or lyrics for each song, plus if we've reviewed the album with the song on it, there is a link to that as well.

Do you happen to know when "What If" came out? A friend of mine said it came out in 1999. Just curious. Your wrap ups get better each week. :)
Thanks for the compliment. Makes the effort worthwhile.
According to Wikipedia :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What_If_%28Creed_song%29
"What If" was the second single from Creed's 1999 album Human Clay, and was the sixth consecutive #1 hit for the band.
The song was used in the 2000 movie Scream 3, for which Creed helped to produce the soundtrack. The music video portrayed Creed band members being killed by the infamous Ghostface character from the Scream films, and features actor David Arquette.
According to guitarist Mark Tremonti, the intro was inspired by both "Paint It Black" from The Rolling Stones and the The Legend of Zelda series of Nintendo video games.

I'm still voting for Chris and Chris alone. If he gets voted off (knock on wood!), I'll quit watching. Well, not really. But it won't be the same for me.

In regards to the performance in the Top 10 results night...
Apologies to SHAKIRA fans out there but
Is it just me ? or did anyone notice that Shakira seems to be lip-synching during her performance ?
It was just odd in parts.
Same with Wyclef. When he sang to Simon, his mouth didnt match up at that time to what we were hearing.
Someone tell me that it ain't so...

I can't imagine that the JUDGES are happy about countryThe judges are fixated on that repulsive boring Stevie Wonder style music. I love any week where I know there will be none of that type of music. Country week is the best.

Katherine ought to do "Crazy" by Patsy Cline" No! That song is the kiss of death.
Only if she doesn't nail it. But if she does, and I expect she could, it would bring down the house.Catharine could not do justice to "Crazy" in a million years. She doesn't have the heart and soul for it. It was written by Willie Nelson, who does a really good version of it himself. I think Taylor could do it justice (especially if they let him whip out that harmonica, sigh).
BTW, I'm listening to Willie's version of "Crazy" right now.

Federline is confused. There will be fires on the dance floors, but it will be more of a Buddhist thing. People will be immolating themselves so they won't have to hear his "music."
