Why I Support President Bush and the ZOT!

Posted on 03/19/2006 6:29:28 AM PST by thousand dollar hamburger

I think he has a sincere desire to help everyone. he has even gone out of his way to embrace people like Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy. He does not hold grudges as shown by his willingness to bend over backwards to allow terrorist supporting nations to operate our ports. We need this type of benevolent leader.

Our President is not a cheapskate, as he has opened up our budget to give to anyone who might need anything.

Aliens from all nations are welcomed into our great country without having to deal with mundane bureaucratic State approval. Cutting government red tape -- that's the Bush way!

Yes, our Prseident even realizes that occupying as many countries around the world as possible is the best way to spread American ideals.

We are truly lucky to have this great man. I suggest that at 10:00 AM EST, we all stand up in unison and shout -- HOORAY FOR BUSH!!!

"Now there's an interesting word -- "howdy". Is it from "How are you?", or maybe "How ya doing?"

It's from "How do you do?"

And "Goodbye" is from "God be with you."

Did I ever tell you about the word "bird?"

You didn't know that I invented the word "bird?"

It's all there in my little poem about when I was a little boy...

***

We summered in a place they called the briddish isles,
The briddish folk who lived up there seemed generous with smiles.
The little hopping critters that had grown their feathers out,
Seemed happy, so I called them brids, a word that went about.

The word got twisted round a bit, and so it came out bird,
But we were very language poor and needed our new word.
The job of giving names to things was one for senior folk,
And I was so much younger then, they took it as a joke.

But still the word got out and I got better known,
And in a way because of it, I got one of my own.
They gave me tufts of feathers, and tied them in a knot,
A rumper-sticker that said Bird-On-Board was something else I got.

After a while just B-O-B was stuck upon my rear,
And when I left somewhere they said BOB has been here.
We traveled around the world back then, or what we knew of it.
Some places seemed to be real nice, and some we quickly split.

Eldredge doesn't bring up something "new"; he brings BACK some things that are old

Scott Hahn is the same - a Catholic Bible scholar. I said in a review I wrote for a homeschooling paper, "He's not making it up; he's looking it up!" Not new, but rediscovered ... "new to us," as I say about most of our clothes :-).

I think that our environment constricts us, so that we don't get the whole of the Christian message in its simplest form. Instead, it's been elaborated over time, until there's so MUCH that we can't take in the whole; each age, or each denomination, emphasizes certain parts. Anything that brings us together around a "Big Point" is good!

A hearty AMEN to THAT!! We share a common table, now over 2000 years long, with our Lord, himself, seated at the head; it's way past time to halt the food fight.

Darn shame there's no way to compress that into a tagline.

No, I did not know that. :)

You need to publish your poems. They cover such a range.
