Find a partner or grab your favorite beverage & listen to some Irish tunes .A couple of wave files - full-length, lilting, Irish melodies - they are so beautiful! I hope you can open them, or "save target as" to your hard drive and listen to them later.

Why Saint Patrick's Day?
Saint Patrick's Day has come to be associated with everything Irish: anything green and gold, shamrocks and luck. Most importantly, to those who celebrate its intended meaning, St. Patrick's Day is a traditional day for spiritual renewal and offering prayers for missionaries worldwide.
So, why is it celebrated on March 17th? One theory is that that is the day that St. Patrick died. Since the holiday began in Ireland, it is believed that as the Irish spread out around the world, they took with them their history and celebrations. The biggest observance of all is, of course, in Ireland. With the exception of restaurants and pubs, almost all businesses close on March 17th. Being a religious holiday as well, many Irish attend mass, where March 17th is the traditional day for offering prayers for missionaries worldwide before the serious celebrating begins.
In American cities with a large Irish population, St. Patrick's Day is a very big deal. Big cities and small towns alike celebrate with parades, "wearing of the green," music and songs, Irish food and drink, and activities for kids such as crafts, coloring and games. Some communities even go so far as to dye rivers or streams green!

My first four name choices were already taken...LOL.
I can't even remember if this was my first choice.
I wanted to go with my initials, or one of my names, but I think there were already a few people with handles that had "Gerard" or "Perry" in there, so I figured I might as well make it as absurd as possible.

I dragged your sorry Irish butt on that ride cause it was Christmas time and I wanted to see them sing Christmas songs. That was neat to watch, actually. You liked it to, hunny bunny. Admit it. Don't make me come over there and kick your a$$.

When I was a wee lad, I was exposed to Speed Racer and Star Blazers. Then, I watched Macross, Voltron, Patlabor, and a few others. As for films, I like Miyazaki's work among others.

Since its less awkward when others are also saying it, I agree with them.

They just moved that ET ride out of the House of Mouse last year. I thought they finally killed it, but heard it went to Florida. How sad.

I think Macross really started it all for me. No wait, probably Speed Racer and G-Force got me started. I also loved Akira and Bubblegum Crisis, and I really loved Project A-ko in terms of hilarity.

Lisa Hayes (Misa Hayase in the original Japanese production) was one of my first crushes as a kid. :-)
