I've tried it and found it not to be very hot. I like the stuff with the rooster on the big red squeeze bottle. It's called Sriracha. Here's a link to mohotta.com

The Tabasco Habanero is pretty good. I really like the following though: http://www.davesgourmet.peachhost.com/ct_PRdain.htm

I occasionally make my own habanero sauce. I dislike vinegar so I use vodka. Use a small bottle, fill it with crushed habaneros, crushed garlic clove and vodka. Le it set. A month or two is usually good.
There isn’t enough alcohol to affect anyone.

Habaneros are nice, a bit hazardous but fun. Never liked Tabasco though, tastes like vinegar, don't like vinegar. There's much better sources for habanero than tabasco, all hazardous, all yummy.

It's hot enough, and it tastes good.

The chipotle Tabasco is good too. I just poured some in a pot of chili on the stove.

The pepper name is spelled habanero if anyone cares. It is about 500,000 on the Scoville heat scale while a japaleño is about 5,000. Perhaps that will give some an idea of how hot one is.

The favorite of the US Navy is some back-of-the-shelf brand called Texas Pete. Even when it sits right next to the Tabasco, 9 out of 10 squids prefer...

If you're into the hot stuff, I gotta recommend Ass-Kicking popcorn. I've heard that it is hit or miss (some batches are mild, others are run-for-the-water-faucet hot), but personally, I've only had the run-for-the-faucet variety.

I don't care for habanero--the extreme hotness overpowers the taste. My regular hot sauce is the cayenne-based Bulliard's Louisana Supreme Hot Sauce:

I grow my own habeneros, dehydrate them and crush them.

I have sent them to F.R. members and will do so again next season - Late August.

If anybody wants some let me know by F.R. mail. I have to have a mailing address.

They are free. I even pay the postage.
