A midweek thread celebrating our entry into the Top 300 Folding teams in the world!

First, a big shout out to the SETI and BOINC members who have added CPUs to the effort. Remember, its Team 36120, NOT Team 0.

Next, congrats to all for bumping our team up to 667 processors and 239 user names. We have a number of new users in the team, with over 50 computers now from GetLoaded.com, a trucking website, all contributing while their owners ply our freeways keeping the nation moving.

After over a year of folding, Team 36120, composed of FReepers honoring Ronald Reagan is poised to enter the Top 300 of 44,000 teams worldwide! This is an incredible accomplishment considering our growth started just two months ago.

Saw that this morning... did you also see who's at 227 ? This team blew by us like we were standing still a couple months back. Seems they've slowed down, and we've sped up at the right time !!! See ya SISD !!!!! That overtake will be sweet !

Uh-oh...did anyone notice the team we are projected to overtake in about 17 days? Currently # 215 on the charts and has a team number of 999? I can't print the name here 'cause them are all powerful and my keyboard will melt.

I'll be brave, its Microso....

I'd say use SHOCK & AWE -- liberals don't like that at all :)

Too bad I can't syncronize them, to give me a TOT... and have them all update at once...

Try ebay, craigslist or Fry's. (And I admire your courage, did you singe any fingers?)

berni_mccoy Sat Feb-04-06 01:51 PM Response to Reply #58 59. The lead guy on their team has 225 CPUs working just for him We'd need about 700-1000 CPUs on our team just to compete with their team with that guy on their side. His call sign is Klutz_dohanger. Here's his stats: http://vspx27.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=userpa...

Hmmm... someone overthere is finally waking up, and actually reading the stats..

corporate_mike (Sat Feb-04-06 02:21 PM Response to Reply #59 61. Better yet, convert him to our side :) He's probably a progressive deep down but probably just can't yet admit it publicly.

Not a chance Mike. I sleep well at night

60. FREEPers ahead of us by only 601 spots and the difference is dropping every day!!

More from the guy that thinks your a "progressive". I guess he can't look at too many stats without his mommy guiding him. I don't know what Corporation he's with, but they're in trouble with him counting the beans !! LOL

Of those 5 CPUS, only 2 are mine. #3 belongs to one of my kids. And #4&5 are at work and technically should be folding for the Intel team...... I feel like a traitor.

Will they all be coming back online at about the same time after the summer break?

At least you are working for a kewl tech firm! I guess 25% of the CPUs over at DU belong to someone who works for a welfare office or otherwise sucks at the government teat. Another 25% belong to mommy or daddy, 45% belong to students who don't own their 'puters they just borg the ones at the school lab or library. Perhaps 1% belong to true workers. The last 4% belong to prisoners or unemployed people who the man won't let work.

yeah, like August 3rd I think it is this year. Problem is, most of them will have to upload a workunit that's past the deadline, then get new ones...

Wait a sec... it just hit me. I shut down outgoing to Stanford.edu at the firewall, and then when I have about 400 workunits done, open it back up, and watch the flood...

In case anyone was wondering why QMD WU have gone away…for a while.

"We are in the process of building new QMD projects. In order to do so, we need to complete our analysis of the existing QMD data -- the current QMD projects have gone quite a long time and built up a very nice data set -- so we have stopped assigning new QMD's as we analyze the existing data set. These projects have been running for almost 1 year, so we have a huge set to examine!

We expect the analysis to take at least a few weeks (and potentially longer, depending on what we find). The upshot will be that we will be moving to second stage QMD WU's, which is very exciting to us.

Thanks to all who have contributed on QMD projects and we'll make an announcement on new QMD projects once we're further along."

I don't think that Corporate_Mike can understand visuals like that...not the sharpest knife in the drawer, if you know what I mean.

I started creating the visuals because it was obvious from many of their comments that they couldn't comprehend the numbers.
