I don't believe Israel really cares about what the rest of the world thinks of them. They will continue to do what they, or at least their current government, thinks will be best for them and their citizens. If public/world opinion were the main catalyst for nations' actions, then we'd all be total subservients to the UN by now........

Nice rant.
And right on the money, of course.

My phone lines were laying in the backyard yesterday as the repairman took his old sweet time repairing them. He was probably yapping on his cell phone. (Hint hint)

Thanks for the ping.
Great article Tas.
I couldn't agree more.

Nailed. Words matter. The word "liberal" used to mean something quite different from what it means today. There are a slew of other words that have had their meanings diluted and corrupted by this tactic. It's long past time to stand firm.

Tas! That was an awesome rant! And you are right! The detractors say that we haven't had any terrorist attacks so what are we still worrying about. Wellllll, why do you suppose we haven't? Because our President IS doing everything he can to try to prevent it.
I will blame them if we are attacked again if they "successfully" ham-string us in the venue of security!

The enemy within is willing to encourage and to protect terrorist cells inside the United States -- terrorists who plot the death of American citizens and the end of our freedom -- for the sake of a political election cycle. Indeed, the "open border" policy and the unwillingness of the administration to expel those here illegally does indeed threaten our freedom.

Israel can't afford to care about public opinion now.
They were sort of the worlds Darling after WWII and up to about 1956...
They were the pet of the left with their combination of socialist welfare state and Capitalist economy.
I believe they were completely blind sided when the rhetoric turned against them.

The deadly monopoly of the leftist media world-wide is the danger, they have been in charge for 40 years.
They write the script, our policies, they elect our pols, and they control our culture.
Until we take up a war against them, the NYT and its ilk will remain in charge of events.

A good coin you turned, but just one face is stamped. In matters Israel, the other half is always inscrutable.

He was talking all around the point that the group targeted in the "surveillance" is predominantly foreign nationals not Americans.

Check out
The Tyranny of Words by Stuart Chase at Amazon. Here's the first review:
Let Me Frame the Argument..., July 30, 2000
Reviewer: John A. Goodson (New Brunswick, NJ USA) - See all my reviews The book is dated but fascinating. It introduces the notion that much of what we argue about is really not an argument about facts but one about definitions. It is fascinating also to note the players in the 1930s and to see what their predictions became. A wonderful introduction to semantics with the caution that if you let an enemy select the terms of the argument, he has already won it.
