OK, new thread for the next week.
First, a big shout out to the SETI and BOINC members who have added CPUs to the effort. Remember, its Team 36120, NOT Team 0.
Next, congrats to all for bumping our team up to 512 processors and 220 user names. We have a number of new users in the team, with over a dozen folders now from GetLoaded.com all popping onto the hit list this week.
We now have ten members who have contributed at least 10,000 points each. Klutz Dohanger, Malsua, Ken in Texas, Andrewksu, LSimpson, kingu, Uriah, arderenne and rach_FR have all reached this milestone. Papasmurf and Senator Bedfellow will join them this next week. Great job!
Even more impressive, our team now boasts 132 members who have folded at least 1,000 points. That is more than the entire number of CPUs folding for our erstwhile left-wing environazi competitors!
Free Republic Folding@Home Stats Page
On the global front, Free Republic Folders is now listed at # 401. We will be in the Top 400 on Sunday!
As we continue to grow there are a number of milestones coming around the bend:
Top 300 by February
Top 250 by the end of the February
We have 800,000 points so far and have folded over 6,400 WU. We will reach an exalted mark of folding a million points per month, each and every month! Fantastic!
Thanks again to all that are helping us advance science and promote the peaceful use of computers.

Papasmurf: Think you don't make a difference?
I'm gettin a 1000 "detail" (i forgot the name of the chunks of work unit) done tonight! :-p
Great game (well it was from my perspective). Please hold on to your WU...If I lose on the Super Bowl (shudder) you can give it to Bush_Democrat and I accept his bet. I also withdraw the pantie waist remark about the Panthers. I meant the Steelers.
Cheers and good luck either way.
If the Steelers win, BD gets one from SCSF.
If the Seahawks win, Drango gets one each from BD and SCSF.
Good Luck, y'all!
...they did look like pantie waists tonight. Good thing I increased my alcohol intake each time the Seahawks scored.
Spoken like a true folder! Fold on!
We have the crappiest electric company on the planet Earth. It only needs an excuse to go out--and it did, for about 5 minutes. I already lost one unit when the electric went out for no reason when I first started folding. I learned my lesson the hard way. :-)

I just joined the team as Route66_FreeRepublic.

Different WU's process at different rates, irrespective of the number of proteins, etc. Some of it has to do with whether the WU is compressed or optimized. I believe that has something to do with how many times it has been run through the process, once they begin getting similar data back on certain ones, they can speed up the process. One of my PCs has been crunching on one WU for about 5 days now.
Also, you might want to power the G4 down and then back up to see if that helps, just wait for it to finish a frame and write it, so you don't lose the last hour or so's work.
This may have been mentioned before but there are only 4 teams between 101st place and us (390th) with a higher daily average and only 9 teams total between 50th and us that have a higher daily average. There are 12 teams in the top 50 with a lower daily average than us. Given enough time we could break the top 50.

Thanks. This is a Tinker unit I'm on, and I've heard that they aren't optimized. I've had several Tinkers--none has been as slow as this one. It says the preferred number of days is 11, and I'll bet that's just how long it will take, too. I'll just have to learn patience. I'm going to have to quit checking my progress. =)
PS: I did a restart this morning.
