From the articles and radio comments its obvious that others saw what you chose to ignore.Oh, and so now if the media says it it must be true:)!!!!
I didn't choose to ignore that some of the stuff she has said was strange, it has been. I'm just saying it's not as bad or as big a deal as the media and some here are making it out to be. And as far as the contestants, it would be easier to take Paula's goofy remarks then Simons abrasiveness. And once again, they know what they are getting into when they tryout. If they can't take the heat they need to stay out of the kitchen.

It is a singing competition. They need truthful comments not sweetly slurred crapola.

I think she gives truthful comments. I've heard her tell people they weren't so good. She's not in your face about it like Simon, (and remember, I've said I like Simon too, in fact he's the best one of the judges).
Anyway, we just have a difference of opinion. I'd hate to see her replaced. I seriously doubt she will be. So there really isn't any point to continue this discussion. We'd just be at war on what is suppose to be a fun thread about a fun show. Let's keep it that way:)

Anyway, we just have a difference of opinion. Yes, we'll have to agree to disagree. :)

I think AI actually likes the notoriety that Paula produces, with her apparent boozing and eyes for the boys. It's all free publicity, and keeps the message boards humming every time she says something like "What's the price of beans?"
And BTW, I actually do believe her that Simon sits there whispering nonsensical things in her ear. Because after all, how could you possibly resist??? *I* wouldn't be able to resist messing with a buzzed-up Paula's brain! LOL!

Simon said because one of them ate pizza and the other ate salad. You know, this comment actually does make sense, if you think about it. It simply means it was all up to luck, to chance, to the infintesimal difference because one ate pizza and one ate salad. In other words, who knows why? I remember when she said it and I understood it instantly, but then Ryan made a big deal out of it. Maybe because Seacrest is a little too slow to pick up on subtleties like that? ;o)

LOL...I really believes he does it too. You always see him bending over to whisper something in her ear. I didn't mean to sound harsh about her, because I actually like her. Even when she speaks rubbish. :) I just think this is the rumor mill starting up again, to do what you said, produce publicity. Because they would have gotten rid of her last year, when the problem was worse.
I do hope though that if she has an addictive problem that she would clean up. She is too pretty and tender hearted to be messing up her life.

Here you go....
Paula Abdul says she isn't mean to contestants because "I have a vagina"
Day two of Paula Abduls weird explanations about her behavior on American Idol brings a bizarre confession: Paulas vagina apparently has a lot of influence on the judging panel.
First, Paula explains that Randy and Simon are there to rip the contestants apart, so she doesnt have to. MSNBCs Jeannette Walls tells us about a conversation Paula had with Rolling Stone, in which she said, Its not my role. Why should I, when the guys to the right and left of me [Simon Cowell] will crush them?
But that alone does not keep her from criticizing the contestants. Her genitalia also lends a hand. And thats on top of the fact that I have a vagina, she tells Rolling Stone, and then confesses that that may not always be the case. Though I do check between my legs to see if something else is sprouting down there, she said.

The glaring problem with that whole episode was the reaction of the contestants, who were standing in front of the guillotine waiting for it to come down on them, and she's vamping about nonsense.

With all this talk about private parts, is AI going the way of the Howard Stern show?

She could serve a purpose if she could at least critique their attire in an honest manner. Did she ever tell Katharine that that dress two weeks back was hideous? Nope. 'You're a star!'

Great kist! I like the way you broke it down into categories. But where are the Country-Western songs, and the Broadway show tunes?

She has severe back problems.
She was on Leno last year explaining the need for strong meds.
