My favorite voice has been Elliot's, but Taylor's got that contagious JOY factor that bubbles up from the depths and makes you want MORE!

Yup :)

Soul Patrol!

Well the Big Boys over at Idol have flexed their muscle again. They have shut down DIALIDOL.COM

I guess they weren't pleased with the "exit polling" results.

DialIdol Bulletin (3/15/2006) 6:00PM EST Goliath (as they will be known for the purposes of this bulletin) sent this "David" a cease and desist letter yesterday claiming that DialIdol infringes on copyrights they own. I am not sure how they think I infringe and many of the allegations they made in the letter are false but in order to protect myself I am taking DialIdol down while I consult with the appropriate resources.

Goliath is very upset with the entire premise of this web site, particularly the way DialIdol "measures the busy signal" to predict the results. Given this I find it highly unlikely that I can change a few logos/colors/names to satisfy their concerns.

Understand that I really am just this one "David" guy with virtually no resources at my disposal to "fight" this Goliath. And by the way I don't even want to fight them - I love Goliath and want to work with them.

As I mentioned I will be consulting the appropriate resources over the next few days. If you'd like to help this David I encourage you to do three things:

1. Watch the show. Everyone involved in this process is here because we love the show - so watch it! The better the ratings, the better off DialIdol will be.
2. Email Goliath and let them know you are upset with their decision to shut DialIdol down.
3. Email me and let me know if you'd be willing to contribute to a legal fund to help David gain a tiny bit of leverage versus Goliath.

Thank you for your support!

The AOL poll says Paris was the worst? LOL--that'll be funny if she's the first cut.

Never too old to appreciate a hunky looking guy.

Did you also notice that all the singers, EXCEPT Ace, were critiqued by Stevie Wonder.

Maybe Ace didn't stop crying long enough for Stevie to say anything :)

If anyone is interested here are Dial Idols results for this week before they got shut down.

1 Taylor Hicks 65.2712 -
2 Kellie Pickler 50.5468 -
3 Chris Daughtry 45.1267 -
4 Paris Bennett 36.6086 -
5 Mandisa 28.3099 -
6 Elliott Yamin 20.6746 -
7 Katharine McPhee 19.2237 -
8 Bucky Covington 13.4222 -
9 Melissa McGhee 10.2117 -
10 Kevin Covais 9.5325 -
11 Ace Young 6.9892 -
12 Lisa Tucker 5.9833 -

Lisa seems to be thier outlier so far though. She was dead last last week too with Kinnik, Ayla right above her. They did nail Will & Gideon though last week. So with that in mind, Ace and Kevin should be sweating tonights results.

I finally got through reading the posts, man it's hard to keep up.

I figured out who Lisa reminds me of....it's a young Sherry Palmer! Really, take a look, it's her.

All Chris did was to look for a Stevie Wonder song that someone else has "rocked out" and sing that version (Chili Peppers'). That doesn't show any originality at all!

I disagree. By choosing "Higher Ground" Chris was able to sing the one Stevie Wonder song that was perfect for him. At the very least, that shows the guy is smart.

These are my top 6...everyone else can go home.

1. Taylor Hicks...nobody else comes close
2. Chris Daughtry
3. Mandisa
4. Katharine McPhee
5. Elliott Yamin
6. Ace Young

Those are in order...except that I have no preference between Katharine and Elliot. They could switch places in the lineup...six or a half-dozen.

Hi, Wolfstar :) Will you be able to stick around for the results tonight? The show starts at 9pm EST (half-hour).

Little Miss Dogpatch is wearing false eyelashes in this photo

Ah-hah!

So yes, she absolutely is a conniving little ho

ROFLMAO!

(Pee Wee) he goes out there, does the best he can, and has fun doing it.

I have to give Pee Wee credit. Outside of Chris and Taylor, he seemed to be more comfortable on that stage last night than the rest of them--maybe more than all of them. The kid is 16 and all this is brand new to him, but he handled Seacrest, Simon and the crowd like an old pro.

If he could build his voice to the same level as his confidence, there could be no stopping him.

That being said, Pee Wee doesn't belong in the competition any longer. He's my pick to go tonight.

I am in complete agreement with your top 5. However, I personally cannot stand Face. Don't like his voice at all. if I had to pick a #6 I guess it would be Lil Magic (Paris) or Lisa.

Hi, Jonny. Unfortunately, no. That's 6:00pm our time, and I normally leave the office at 5:30pm. (STILL no word from CompUSA about when I can get the PC back.)

Today was a light day at work, so I took a bit of advantage to participate on this thread awhile.

I agree with you both, to some extent. However, since so much of this is about picking the material that is right for you, he made a good decision, and did a great job.

With luck the Dogpatch "Hickler" will be long gone from the show by then.

I really believe she will. The Gherkin alienated MILLIONS of people last night. No one on this thread bought her country-fried act--I'm hoping most of the voters didn't either.

My sis LOVES Paris...she just annoys me. I think Lisa is a bit vanilla...talented, but nothing stand-out about her style (if she has developed one.)

I was lurking over at the AI boards earlier today and people seemed more annoyed with Paris' singing then Kellie's act- at least from what I saw.
