"After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways," the couple said in a statement Wednesday. "This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other. We hope that you respect our privacy during this difficult time."

Not surprising, but saddening because it represents so many other marriages in our crumbling society. If anyone had the resources to make a marriage work, these two certainly did. Even if they both quit their careers today, they'd be richer than 90% or more of the people in the world.
Even worse, Jessica claims (claimed?) to be a Christian, and her father was a preacher. What part of "God hates divorce" have they forgotten? Why is the divorce rate for professing Christians the same as for nonbelievers? Why are our churches silent on this and so many other moral issues?
It probably doesn't help that he so quickly became Mr. Jessica Simpson.
Is that you, Rev Phelps?
Money can't buy me love.....nor will it save a marriage.

Are you trying to be funny?
God hates divorce. That's straight from the Bible. Divorce is an act, a sinful act. Notice it does NOT say God hates people who divorce?
God hates homosexuality, a sin. God does not hate homosexuals.
Got it?
what is your justification for that comment on this thread... or are you just one of those run of the mill idiot gay bashers that likes to get the comment in anytime they can?
I thought we were talking about Nick and Jess!?!
We are but certian doom has his own agenda and likes to get it in where ever he can... typical of small minded people.
Well if you read the bible you would see that it is not view in as acceptable... the roman Catholic church does not condone it... and divorce is part of the reason for destroying society... but with the small minded comments that you make I am not sure that you would understand something like that..
Ah, the ol' seven month itch, eh?

True, true. However, the lack of it can certainly cause strife. I was only trying to make the point they didn't have financial worries like most marriages.
Very sad, but predictable. How can a marriage survive in a fishbowl? At least they didn't have children.
It appeared to me as if...you felt that money could save their marriage.
I understand what you meant now.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Cheer up all. At least Elton John is getting married.
Divorce is unfortunate. However there are situations where it's mandatory.
I was raised Roman Catholic, and my parents were very devout. My mother knew that my ex was beating the living sh*t out of us, but wouldn't let us move home. She told me to pray harder. I finally got out of it, 19 years too late.
No one should put up with abuse or adultery, and that's just common sense. God also hates people who mock Him and break vows and commandments.
Was that sarcasm? God doesn't hate anyone, He hates the sin not the sinner. Redemption and salvation is possible for everyone, even Saddam.
