So can we be assured then that we will get a nominee who will poke the liberals in the eye?

In particular they wanted one who would poke them in the eye with abortion. I feel Miers would have done that, but whatever.

It's an overgeneralization to say all the conservatives that opposed Miers felt this way, but I think there was a good amount of this going on.
However, it is a lot easier to know what someone believes when they aren't afraid to come out and say it even when it could be considered poking liberals in the eye.
I think many of those opposing Miers were justifably uncomfortable with not knowing enough about Miers. I just think that the way they went about trashing her was very, very wrong.

Shep- try sticking to REPORTING the FACTS. You're apparently ill-equipped to become a pundit.

Shep's performance after Katrina was an embarrassment. I lost much faith in him. He's another news reader who sometimes is called upon to think and the process is novel to him.

Anyone who would rule on the plain language of the law is a stick in the liberals' eye.

Shep is upset because we didn't want a CLOSET CONSERVATIVE. He knows alot about closets doesn't he.

Shep drank too much bayou water down in New Orleans.
To: governsleastgovernsbest
He may be saying nice things about her now but so help her if she was standing in a parking space he wanted.
And why, why, why couldn't the government help those people in New Orleans.
