Just heard on WEEI that Pats safety Rodney Harrison has torn his ACL and will miss the remainder this season.
That stinks. It looks like Crennel still knows how to slow Manning down.
I knew he was going to be great when he beat Florida St. all by himself in college.
It's kind of hard to run a play action pass when you don't the run ball very much to begin with.
There isn't a Cleveland affiliate you can pick with an antenna?
That and the Giants aren't a very good tune up for the Patriots.
Matched Frank Gifford's almost 50 year-old record for diversity of performance in a single game.
Sure it is. Their confidence level is at 100% :D
Vermeil understood the importance of keeping the opposing D guessing. Faulk, now sadly past his prime, was great in every aspect of being an RB, they won by doing the same thing with him the Chargers did with LT last night (and then giving the ball to Holt and Bruce often enough to really confuse the other team). I always thought the cruelist thing the Rams could do during that era was a twin WR set then sending Faulk into the area where Holt and Bruce just left, there was simply no way to effectively cover all three with that kind of pattern, one was always open.
Just where we want them to be.
I remember in the 2001 NFC title game Martz actually gave Faulk the ball when they were losing to Philly and he won the game for them. Then the following week Martz forgot about him in the Super Bowl.
Martz is dorky. For a while they talked every single game about the Faulk factor, every talking head in the NFL knew the 25 touches stat, except Martz. I think they finally got tired of the sad comedy of talking about how the Rams always win IF and then watch Martz only give Faulk the ball like 10 times. I honestly don't think the Rams could be a worse managed team if they just grabbed some guy out of the stands every game and gave him the play sheet, why he hasn't gotten the axe yet I couldn't possibly guess (well I could hazard a guess but thinking of Georgia Frontier that way makes me ill).
ACL normally means a 9-12 month recovery. More if it is really severe. In most cases, players can make a full recovery, physically. The mental part is the hardest.
I'll never forget before Super Bowl 36 Martz did everything but make love to the Lombardi Trophy after his pre game press conference. Belichick wouldn't even look at the thing.
I kind of had a bad feeling when he was carted off...the look on his face was that of- "I'm done for the season"...Not good....
