It was my understanding that Bush was very proactive before the storm hit, too, but if so, why did Bush allow Michael Brown to take the fall?

That is not, from my understanding, a reporter's notes.

I believe they were put out on behalf of the Republican party a few days back to clarify the misperceptions.

They are true from everything I know, though. I'm just trying to appropriately credit them.

I saw this same Merrit Island reporters post on here a few days ago...and I got it in my email from my mom yesterday. Has anyone confirmed this story? When it was posted here, the only source was email and google.

Rush was talking on Friday about how the democrats have been lying in wait for another terrorist strike - and this was it. When this disaster hit, they used the plan already in place to attack the President for not acting fast enough, for not doing enough, etc.

But the truth is .. the Governor and the Mayor are responsible - and since they're dems, then we have to blame the repubs .. that's just how it's done. We can't possibly hold democrats to blame .. can we ..??

Actually, I stand corrected. It is an email that continues to go around uncredited:

Blanco must have a very severe pride issue, either that or her head is stuck up her fourth point of contact.

Amazing isn't it? The truth you will never hear from the MSM, and the polls that will never be done or heard.

It was decided that if they allowed federal assistance it would make it look as if they had failed so it was agreed upon that the feds would not be invited in.

What they really meant was that it would give Bush a chance to be the white knight who saved them, and that would not be good for Hillary.

emergency preparedness plan ...may have been bogus for the purpose of gaining additional federal funding ...

the organizations identified in the plan were never contacted or coordinating into any planning - though the document implies that they were.

Sick (in the bad sense of the word)

he claimed to have over 500 busses at his disposal to use between the local school busses and the city transportation busses - but he never raised a finger to prepare them or activate them

Actually, he did use some buses (don't know how many) - but only to take people to the Superdome, which had experienced violence and crime when used as a shelter in 1998 - that's why the National Guard was on hand to pat people down as they entered. Wouldn't it have been nice to dedicate some of those local and state resources to evacuation instead of crowd control?

BTW, interesting slideshow taken by a French Quarter resident who rode out the storm and got himself out last Friday.

I posted this on another thread:

Does it strike anyone else that the Louisiana democrats found a perfect puppet in Blanco, "helped" get her "elected," never dreaming their figurehead would be called upon to make life and death decisions under national scrutiny,
and that her refusal to let the feds into LA might be because they wanted to prevent the feds from seeing first-hand the Louisiana government corruption?

Ya gotta feel a little sorry for Terry Ebbert.

ONE:
In 1997 Terry Ebbert said New Orleans was doing a good job of reforming the police department and getting rid of crime. [NEW ORLEANS -- THE COMEBACK CITY]

Unfortunately for Ebbert and the folks of New Orleans, the police reforms didn't take hold [A Blockbuster Report (New Orleans MURDER CAPITAL of the US)]

TWO:
This past January there was an article in which Ebbert praised the new cameras which were supposed to help reduce crime. [CITY OF NEW ORLEANS LAUNCHES HIGH-TECH ASSAULT ON CRIME ]

Ebbert said: "Our ability to protect citizens and structures just received an unbelievable boost."

I don't think the cameras were of much use during the disturbances in the aftermath of Katrina.

THREE:
After Katrina hit, Ebbert announced to the AP that the breach in the levee would be repaired in a few hours and the water was only slowly rising. {Is T. Ebbert [NOLA DHS chief] responsible for delay in large-scale response to levee breach?]

Most of the world knows how wrong Ebbert's prediction about the levee was.

He was told that they didn't think it necessary for the federal government to be involved yet. After the President's final call to the governor she held meetings with her staff to discuss the political ramifications of bringing federal forces. It was decided that if they allowed federal assistance it would make it look as if they had failed so it was agreed upon that the feds would not be invited in.

This burns me up as the President is being slammed by those soulless democrats over this, when they darn well know all of this too. Curses on them!
