I just got back home ten minutes ago. Is there any idea when an announcement regarding a nomination will be named?

My guess is that out of respect for Justice O'Connor, the president will wait until after the 4th of July holiday, but that's just a guess.

FNC seems to think an announcement is imminent, but that doesn't seem like the president's style.

I will stay away from them also. But, I can understand the disgruntlement that many of us seem to feel. My goodness! We send a REPUBLICAN to the White House, we have a REPUBLICAN House and a REPUBLICAN Senate and we let the RATS push us around. I can only hope that Specter has other things which claim his immediate attention and the Rhenquist resigns, too.

On another thread, someone just reported that MSNBC said that the announcement will be made after the G8 summit.

Bork. LOL

I'd love it; his age is against him or otherwise I think it would be seriously considered.

I understand the worry on the threads too, although I haven't read of what is entailed in that worry since I just got home. But considered that Republican presidents have appointed 7 of the judges and we STILL have activist decisions, I can fully understand the concern this generates among conservatives.

I'm not surprised. I am really guessing that it will be the Attorney General who will be nominated.

Much as I like Gonzales for Attorney General, I would not be happy seeing him appointed to the Supreme Court. He couldn't even bring himself to vote for parental notification regarding abortion.

I just got in too, but I did hear about O'Connor on the car radio. I'd love to see Ted Olsen nominated.

It was 76 degrees when I left the house and 2 hours later it's 94. Hot one.

Oh, I'd love to see Ted Olsen appointed too. It's really nice here, 83 degrees and sunny with no humidity.

I fell getting into the shower today and my hip, arm, back and hand are turning black and blue. I am a KLUTZ!

Well, ladies, we're in for a lot of speculation and pontification from the stuffed heads shirts. Only a few will be worth the read. President Bush plays his cards close to his chest. Time to take this to a Higher Power. I gotta go do something in the house.

Thank you, Jemian. I'm lucky I didn't break my hip. My family doesn't call me (sarcastically) Grace for nothing. LOL

So True, and I'm sure that our President will be doing that as well.

McCain was just on saying the gang of 14's deal would hold. He's delusional and trying to preserve his legacy as a deal maker/moderate.

I'm remembering Clarence Thomas's nomination process and hope whoever is nominated has a strong faith; they're going to need it because the democrats will try to rip their reputation to shreds.

Thank you. I did something to my hip that is not good but it all happened so fast I can't even recreate what happened. My hand is pretty sore so I'm going to log off and let Mr. Peach take me to lunch.

It looks like Justice O'Connor will continue to serve until the confirmation process is complete; I just read her resignation letter.

My favorite! Two names mentioned on Laura Ingraham's show this morning that would send the liberals into a wild screaming panic were Mark Levin and Zell Miller. LOL!

Hi everyone!

2/3rds, you are here more often lately, and it sure is nice!

lysie, strong line of storms bearing down on you...

Limbaugh is right: before the holiday weekend is over, we're going to be sick of this USSC seat subject!
