Home from the clinic - rereading yesterday's posts. Can't remember the year of that tornado - late 50's though. It didn't do damage in the town, did get some out buildings between your town and Olds I think. But what I remember most is the straw in the telephone pole. It has been so long ago that I don't remember whether it was in town or on the outskirts. Some local people at the restaurant told us about it and we went to see. I can't imagine the force and pressure those tornaodes generate!!!
Friends called from Spencer this morning to say they were in their basement a good part of yesterday. Hope the storms are gone for awhile!

Most of the nasty stuff went North of us last night. We had some wind and .2 rain around 2:00 am.
I still don't recall the storm you were mentioning. Seeing a piece of hay or straw driven into a telephone pole would impress me.
I once saw a big 4wd tractor wrapped around a tree, bent in the center to wrap nicely, after a torando that hit about 30 miles from here,,, must have been about 20 years ago. THAT impressed me, too.
