I would like to warn you all about dell and sales customer care

Dell tech... First of all I call up DELL and went through the order. I told the guy what I wanted and what I was going to use the computer for I was told that a DELL diemension 3000 came with a p4 775 socket t if I paid the upgrade cost to get the new socket type. I got my comp the second week of jan 05

I then set it up and call DELL tech to confirm that I got the right hardware in my comp. Tthey told me yes on jan 26 you got the socket t. I was like good. I then recalled back to confirm the same thing yes you have a socket t.

Well the third call back to triple check guse what no socket t

You have a 478 so I went through 1 day a T the next 478 so five months and I still get told I have the new T socket so I'm like no I have the 478 they would start hanging up because I was wrong so I paid for the 1 year warnn

So what do I do? I'm like ok fix the problem... So after 100 or so DELL techs and there super visors and customer care supers they all concur that they dont even know there own hardware and they tell me were sorry we made a mistake and 21 days are up so we can't fix the problem we screwed up and can't help you.

So they offer a coupon listen this is where it gets good for 50 dollars to buy a pcie slot for my computer yes i did say for me TO BUY A PCIE SLOT for my mother board and i told the ladey look i want my p4 sockt procser and you cant buy a PCIE SLOT ETHER so she says will a hundred dollar coupon buy it i said no you cant bribe me to shut up about it and so i'm gonna call dell in texas and complain because i'm ether talkin to guys who are located in india no mater how many calls I make. So heres what I do

I destroy my DI 3000 twice a week I get a new mobo p4 512 mb of memory and psu. I will not stop doing that they send a repair guy out every time to install. I say my computer might stop doing that if I got the stuff I paid for.

Bbut heres my point. I have the proof of my call logs of every day that I call and then I'm told by customer care super visor that I never called jan 26th so he says you called march 28th

I said no sir your wrong I have my call logs he said go get them. I say no sir you read all the ones in front of you now. He then starts reading them and after the first 4 he says i called jan 26th and I orderd my computer jan 6 and he said well you ordered jan 6th and I missed the return date because I did'nt call till jan 26th.

I said what sir, you just lied to me sir. You said I never called jan 26

Then he hung up on me. Those people will say any thing. So many lies if I wrote the whole story down I'd be writeing all night

BUT PLEASE DO NOT BUY A DELL THEY LIE AND HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT PC HARDWARE AND GOOD LUCK THEY USE FALSE NAMES YOU CALL FOR DELL TECH AND SOME INDIA GUY THAT CANT BARLEY SPEAK ENGLISH. GET THIS NAMED MIKE AND ARCHIE OR DAVID OR BOB WILL ANSWER BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE CANT SAY THERE NAMES

I have 2 similar ordeals with a wireless phone company and cable internet provider. The wireless phone company was Nextel. I was caught in Hurricane Ivan, my cell phone got drenched in the rain and I guess short-circuited and stopped working. I called up the company wanting a phone replacement. They tell my my warranty was up and if I wanted the same free phone that I had before when I signed up, it would cost me $200.00, the cheapest phone they had was about $150.00 So I said, common, give me a break on the price of the phone, my 2 year contract ends in 1 month anyway, and I have a total of 4 cell phones. Nextel was very firm about not giving me a deal on the phone. I talked to 5 different Nextel agents over several days and got no for answer each time. So I went on for a whole month without a cell phone and at the end called Nextel to terminate my account as my contract had essentially expired. Now had I terminated my account before by contract expired, I would be charged a ~$200 fee/fine. When the Nextel agent on the phone asked me why I'm terminating my account with them, I told her my story. She quickly offered me a new phone for free. I told her that I was unhappy with all of my phones anyway because of the poor reception every time I got into a building. She then offered me 4 free brand new better and newer phones and promised that these latest models provided better reception even in buildings. Needless to say, Nextel lost my business. Unbelievable, first they wouldn't give me a break on one old model phone but 30 days later were willing to give me 4 spanking new phones for free. On principle, I told Nextel to go suck an egg.

My cable company story is even more insane. I was paying $105/month tax included for high speed cable internet, cable TV (with 2 HBO channels, and 2 Showtime channels), and local cable phone. I have had this account for 5 years. Then one day, I read on the newspaper that this same company offered a bundle deal of cable internet, tv, and phone for $80. So I called them up to inquire about this bundle deal. I was assured by the agent that if I switched to this advertised bundle, it would provide me with the same exact service I currently had for $80 plus tax. It would just be a switch on paper essentially because I would be getting everything I currently have so a cheaper price. So I made the switch thinking that I had just saved myself about $15-or so bucks per month. Tap myself on the back that day and congratulated myself on being a wise shopper. Come the bill the following month for $118.00...HUH???I thought it was for $80/month + taxes. What happened? It's now $13 more than what I had been paying for the past 5 years. I called up the company and was told that because I had made the switch during the middle of a billing period, I was charged a partial month's fee. OK, fine I said ignorantly...what about next month? I was told, "Oh, next month it would be $80 + tax..and from then on." Come the following month...my bill ballooned to $122. DANG!!! I called them again and was told that well, actually, because in my old service, my phone was unlisted, so now to have the same, they had to charge me extra to keep my phone unlisted. What the hey? $30-something bucks to keep my phone unlisted? Oh no, it just doesn't end there...So I said to the agent, "how about transfering me to the department where I can terminate my account today." After several minutes of being put on hold, I get another girl on the phone. "Sir, what can I do to retain your business?" A couple of "we apologize" later, she then offered..."We a have a new bundle for $90/month that includes...." I closed my account and switched to a different internet, TV, and phone service provider.

The person writing the article is a TROLL. Not mike but the idiot that tried to deal with DELL. I lost my job because DELL went to China to get parts for their computers.

I was wondering why My CPU Fan in my Optiplex GX280 was running faster than normal with very little or no CPU time being used. As I was Googling around and found this little gem. It struck me that if a person is going to implore people not to purchase a particular product or service, it might be helpful if they could write at least one sentence that makes sense or two words in a row that are spelled correctly.

This guy's problem is not computers. It is lack of education.

I would lay money on it. As I read this, I really wished that there were a reply button. Can you imagine this guy on the phone with anyone? He can't even form a thought into an intelligible sentence.

I have a dell DIM 4400 and INSP 1150 happy with both. Have had the 4400 for about 4 years and the 1150 for almost a year. I've never had a problem with tech support even though they have an Indian accent, course this might be becasue I used to have a manager who was Indian and by living in L.A. you learn almost every accent known to man ;)
