Immodest golfers' reply to nature's call tees off neighbors
Lubbock avalanche-Journal ^ | 1 May 2005 | Joe Gulick

People who live next to golf courses become accustomed to the occasional errant shot that sends a golf ball flying onto their property and perhaps through a window. But some of the neighbors who live along the LakeRidge Country Club's golf course can testify to a much worse annoyance.

It seems a few of the golfers have been uncouth about their personal habits as they make their way around the course

There are WCs at strategic points all over the course, but I guess riding a golf cart or walking to a WC is too difficult...

It would appear that some folks have taken an organic approach to maintaining the greens...

As though having to play an errant shot next to some goose poop wasn't bad enough...

Here is a paragraph from the article:

"Another resident told of eating dinner with her mother and grown daughter as they looked out the window onto the golf course. A golfer walked over, relieved himself, looked over and made eye contact and then walked back to his golf cart to get another beer, she said."

If someone claimed that I had anything visible beyond 25 yards, I would buy them a beer. What You have to do, if You just gotta Whizz, is to practice neutral body language, and convince onlookers that You are just checking out the greens.
We have perverts running around raping and killing Our babies, but go ahead and bust some old Grampa with weak kidneys, for peeing on Your Damned golf course.
Ladies, if You can be impressed by anything You see at 25 yards, be in awe, but don't call the Cops.
Autographed photos, $25.00 for a 4X6, closeups cost extra!

Well, some folks were p*ssed because some of these folks relieved themselves in people's backyards. The course in the middle of a semi-gated community. There is an instance in the story wher some dude relieved himself in full view of people eating a meal in their home. If ya gotta go, find a bush, shrub, hedge, or some other obstruction.

I am curious as to how she can certain of that? Do they have a Piddle Patrol? Little golf carts patroling the course with sponges and cattleprods?

Plant more bushes on golf courses, then, when I gotta go, I'm going!
I don't play golf, BTW, I prefer reality.

"I don't play golf, BTW, I prefer reality."

I have been to over 40 courses in the Midwest. The scenery of Eagle Ridge (Galena, IL) is among the best I've been to. I go to these places, not to golf, but to deliver special mixes and grades of sand (some even dyed green).

When I get to a golf course I picture myself riding a horse, checking on the cattle, and enjoying the good Lord's creation. I must admit, even though I'm prospering from it, the game of golf seems to be among the highest in vanity.

And don't touch your face or eat without washing your hands, that ball rolls around on grass that is sprayed countless times with a variety of pesticides!

According to this article, that isn't only thing sprayed on the grass...

Not all homes are "25 yards" from the courses.

My parents live one-medium-left-hook-off-of-the-fifth-hole. We sit out in their back yard (perhaps 40 feet from the course), watch golfers pass by and comment to each other. None of we ladies are golfers, but we joke about holding up cards with scores of 1 - 10; but we never imagined scoring anything other than their swings!

I have been to this neighbourhood many times. The houses on the course are immediately adjacent to the course; their backyards aren't huge (maybe 25 from the backdoor to the greens).

I knew after I made the pesticide comment, that would be someone's response. Congratulations for being the first!
