An update. Our FRiend is still in the hospital as blood levels are not yet as they should be. I don't know how long her hospitalization will be or what is the average stay for this sort of issue. (My own simple thyroid surgery was one day and overnight.) So I ask that your prayers continue, and knowing Freeperdom, I know they will.

Excellent news.
Her diagnosis is the same as mine. The doctor told me if your going to get cancer, thats the one to get. My cousin had the same thing over 20 yrs ago, 100% recovery and no problems, other than having to take thyroid meds the rest of her life.
She's going to start feeling a whole lot better, once they start her on the meds.

My next surgery is Thursday morning, then it's 2 weeks and i get the radioactive iodine, and that should be the last of it, except for a few checkups to balance out the meds.

An update: Our Freeper friend is still in the hospital, but her blood levels are improving, which has lifted her mood and hopefully she will soon be discharged-- and the rest of her treatment will begin.

Graycliff -- this has come at an interesting time for you. (I only use the word 'interesting' for lack of a better one. But you know what I mean.) What will the next surgery be? I wish you luck and hope you keep us posted as to your progress.

Just found this thread a little late, but I wanted to add my prayers and hugs for our FReeper FRiend. May God bless her and comfort her. Your updates on our FRiend's condition have been encouraging. May she heal completely.

Please convey my prayers - as well as the knowledge that my best friend had the same surgery in October and is doing great. She still has to work at balancing out her meds - but she is back to work and doing great.
